About Me
Hi, I'm Victoria!
Currently enjoying the summer time after finishing my 1-year education in dance. So if you ever need someone to hit the floor with I'm ready to crawl like a goblin (thanks contemporary) or swing my legs to the rhythm of Kelly Clarksons "Since u been gone" (thanks ballet with Paul who hated classical music).
My big lifeplan at the moment is to start university in September and study nutrition. I love anything that evolves the body whether it's how to move it or how to give it energy. Cooking, alongside dance, is one of my biggest passions. One of my super skills is to produce a meal from an empty fridge and with some dust from the corner of a cupboard. Creativity is a blessing - speaking of which...
Anything that centers around creating also sparks my joy. I love drawing, sketching, crocheting or fiddling with my 30 (or more.. lost count) plants. Im generally a fairly active person both physically and mentally hence the many interests. I'm also always happy to talk and discuss the many possibilities we as humans have over a cup of tea or wine. I love to hear about peoples dreams and aspirations and sharing how we can leave this place better than we found it <3
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've spent a great deal of time on the road and in a myriad of different locations. Volunteering, cooking, cleaning or whatever opportunity came my way. Therefore I've met an incredible amount of people from around the world and international communities always impress me. It's someting about the way people who travel views the world... There's an openminded approach and a willingness to listen that I simply just love. Iv'e already had many great experiences her on CS so I can't wait to get more! Seeing a place for from a locals point of view and make new friends around the world will always be high on my to do list:))

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music I'm all over the place. I like indie, pop, soft rock, jazz and rap. This includes artists such as Tom Misch, Dua Lipa and MUNA. But to be fair the list is endless and I love new recommendations!
Books is likewise all over the place. I would never say no to a nostalgic Harry Potter read, but I also like a novel like Sally Rooneys "Normal People" or a good poem by Pablo Neruda. I just finished Murakami's "Norwegian Wood" and Elena Ferrantes "The lying life of adults". I must also admit one of my guilty pleasures is reading cookbooks...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteered for almost a year in a monkey sanctuary in South Africa when covid hit and we had to survive on the bare minimum. Really makes you appreciate how lucky you are in other aspects of life. Helping the monkey for 10+ hours a day was intense but also one of the most giving things I've experienced.
(I also managed to get bitten by a monkey, but that's a whole other story!)
