About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to figure out my mission.

ABOUT ME

I'm a recent college graduate with lots of energy and a love of going on adventures. I live in a sweet little house with my pet rabbit, Eleanor. I love being an active member of my local community and being involved in lots of different projects. I have more interests than I know what to do with, and I spend most of my time trying to pursue all of them at once.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm very community minded and passionate about social justice. I try to look at the world and appreciate the good things and do what I can about the bad. I am strongly opposed to violence and value peace and peaceful living very highly. I think it is important to work for the things you believe in, so I am an activist for a number of causes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the website, but I'm very excited about using it to meet fellow travelers and have great adventures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Though I have never used the website before, many of my best trips have involved staying with friends of friends or experiencing the kindness of strangers. Once, when I was camping with friends at Zion National Park and there was a big snowstorm, a woman from the nearby town took pity on us and invited us to stay in her guest house. She turned out to be a really fun and interesting person, and 3 years later I still visit her sometimes.

Interests

I love riding my bike, vintage clothes, participating in my community garden with my friends, hiking in national parks, reading, watching Mad Men, dancing, and watching documentaries.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Harry Potter, Winesburg, Ohio, The Bean Trees

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was on a walk with some friends a little after midnight, when suddenly a HUGE meteor streaked across the sky. For just one second, everything lit up as bright as daylight. And then it was gone. It happened so fast that we all just stopped walking and stared at it and didn't say a word until after it was gone. It was one of the coolest things I will likely ever see.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know an indecent amount about the history of Mormons in America and the state history of Utah (which is full of some VERY interesting stories, okay?), I'm a good cook, and I'm really good at scavenging for and finding great stuff.

I am always looking to learn new skills- most of my knowledge is too theoretical, and I want to learn more concrete things.
