Hello peoples of the world!

My name is Victoria, I'm a bit of a mutt but I'm originally from New Jersey (everything you've heard is true). I've also lived in Virginia, the UK, North Carolina, Colorado and am currently in Oregon. I've been pretty stationary in Portland since moving here a couple years ago and I'm really excited to catapult myself over to Japan for two weeks with my friend Emily.

I am basically one of the easiest people to entertain, and can figure out a way to have fun in – almost – any situation (let's be reasonable here). We can brainstorm about the probable chemical make-up of unicorn poop or the meaning of our existence, because LIFE IS PAIN, either way I'm down.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a truly special, unique community that I am so grateful to be apart of. When I travel, the people that I encountered along the way shape my entire experience of the place I'm visiting. Couchsurfing is an incredible tool that allows us all to take a glimpse into someone else's life and by the end of it, make a new friend. The fact that strangers generously welcome me into their home, so willing to share their space and free time with me is continually refreshing towards my –at times– jaded view towards humanity.

Interests

Indulging in sugary delights, petting puppies, eating pizza, talking about pizza, hot sauce that burns my face off, making others smile, literature that frolics around my brain cells, and music that tickles my insides.

Music, Movies, and Books

Graphic novels such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Black Hole, The Maxx (comic), as well as Franz Kafka short stories, American Psycho, The Bell Jar, anything David Sedaris, Alissa Nutting, Chuck Palahniuk and it goes on... Basically anything that will haunt in my brain.

I love 80s dance music... the Safety Dance never ceases to put a smile on my face. Love the Cure, Joy Division, New Order, La Femme. Garage rock like Shannon and the Clams, Nobunny, Wavves, Hunx and his Punx, King Khan & BBQ Show, FIDLAR. I adore Nancy Sinatra and have probably listened to "Bang, Bang" 20 million times and counting. The Coasters, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley. So yeah, something like that.

I also love awesomely terrible movies, preferably from the 80s-early 90s.
Favorites are hard. But some that will always have my love are Kill Bill 1 & 2, 28 Days Later, Cry Baby, Edward Scissorhands, all things Nicolas Cage good and bad but mostly bad.
