About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel to a new place, subdue the natives (with my charm :P) and love every moment
ABOUT ME
Hello I'm Victoria and I love to travel and meet new people! I couchsurf is to experience each location I travel more like a local while appreciating it with the awe of a visitor. I'm adventurous, nerdy, curious and passionate. I am also very clean, considerate and a great cook. I'd love to meet you!
PHILOSOPHY
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
― Augustine of Hippo
“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
- Terry Pratchett
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to challenge myself and try things that are normally beyond my comfort zone. I am very open minded and genuinely want to connect with other people and understand other cultures. What's the point of traveling if your going to do and eat the same stuff you have at home?
My upbringing between the the US, UK and Nigeria makes it hard for me to imagine a situation where I wouldn't have something in common with a stranger.
I travel to immerse myself in a new experience. It changes you and will always be a part of you from then on.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first couchsurfed during a two month backpacking trip before I started med school. I am used to hosting people through other forums. Meeting and connecting with new people, sharing new experiences and exploring new places is the best part of life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've swum with protected green sea turtles along the St. Thomas coral reef, ziplined in the Puerto Rican rainforest to the chorus of coqui frogs, and communed with the oracle at Delphi in Greece (I learned I am destined for greatness :P). I drove up the active volcano Mauna Loa and completed the treacherous road to Hana. I hopped on a bus to the Hungarian country side and spent time in an ecofarm. In Iceland I hiked a glacier and tried my hand at ice climbing. I've coached women through birth and delivered hundreds of babies.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to: knit, administer first aid/emergency medicine, deliver babies, read people, brew Kombucha, cartwheel and other things that don't immediately come to mind.
