About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be fully present with every person I meet

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. For the past 5 years, I've been traveling around the world teaching, writing, coaching, and most recently - building an initiative called The Higher Purpose Project. It's been awesome and I love meeting new and interesting people with unique life experiences.

Random things I've done (in no particular order):
1. Served in the military as a LT
2. Served in the US Merchant Marine as a Third Mate
3. Modeled for an agency in NY
4. Edited a book on Mudras while volunteering in Southern Brazil
5. Owned a bakery that specialized in gourmet mini-pies
6. House-sat for a celebrity on a 52-acre ranch in Southern Colorado
7. House-sat a multi-million dollar property in Northern California
8. Taught a yoga class in Uruguay
9. Lived barefoot for 3 months on the beaches of Cassange, Brazil
10. Served as a drill instructor for a summer
11. Ate ice cream in Turkey
12. Drove a Navy ship through the Panama Canal
13. Drove my car around the US for 6 months. Saw all 50 states (sailed to Hawaii and Alaska)

Other facts about me: non-smoker, early morning riser, not a big drinker (only occasionally like to enjoy a nice glass of sweet white wine), and a pesco-vegetatian.

PHILOSOPHY
Life is an adventure. If you're not scared, you're doing something wrong.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to connect with as many people as possible. Since I've been living out of a suitcase for 5 years, I don't really have a place for people to stay at the moment. But once I do, I'll definitely be sure to pay it forward. In the meantime, I hope to be an awesome and respectful couch surfer as I travel around the US.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent 6 months couch surfing around the US. Eventually my college alumni network (USMMA) found out what I was doing and I no longer needed to rely on this website - but honestly, meeting new people through this site was in some ways even more fun!

Interests

Trying new foods. Hiking. Spending time in Nature.

I love experiencing new cultures and learning new things, so if you have a hobby you're passionate about or a favorite ethnic restaurant you love, please share.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Bollywood movies. I'm not a fan of scary movies.
I'll read anything, from memoirs to science fiction, as long as it has interesting and relatable characters.
I like all types of music, except that angry stuff...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once sailed on a container ship from the East Coast of the US to Germany. Along the way, we found ourselves in the middle of a pod of hundreds of whales. It was AWESOME.
