About Me

Organic/bio home. Organic/bio/natural guests only. I've had to turn away guests that came to my door covered in cigarette smoke and perfume.

------------

I am eager to host all ages, genders, flavors, races, religions, etc., who I see embodying (or have the potential to embody) the authentic (and original) couchsurfing spirit... which is a fearless, open and adventuring soul, and one who gives back to the world in some way to spread goodness. I invest in awareness, goodness, and love.

----------------------------------------------

I was raised in a poor, religious fundamental household in the Ozark Mountains. I had very little schooling as a child, and was quite naive to the real world when I left home at 17. I've been on my own ever since. I was a single mom for 18 years and have live a life full of intense obstacles. I don't take anything for granted, and am very open-minded.

I'm a mix of super serious and complete goof. I'm a happy type of person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I initially joined to establish a profile and reputation for when I travel, and I quickly discovered that hosting is rewarding in itself. During years where I was so busy I didn't have a social life, hosting through couchsurfing, helpx, workaway, and warmshowers allowed me to meet people and also gave me some wander lust fulfillment, being able to experience the different cultures in my own home. I have met so many kindred spirits through couchsurfing. It's wonderful meeting the many fearless, open, wonderful people that I have.

I'm crazy about healthy living, and have been able to manage some complicated health issues through clean living and eating.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love people, and think that we should all take care of each other. The competitive and greed-filled society that developed out of the patriarchy is horrifying and is difficult to live in.

I love National Parks, philosophy and ethics, history, Gothic cathedrals, Phantom of the Opera, Harry Potter, Marcus Aurelius, Anne of Green Gables, photography, movies with strong character development, psychological thrillers.

Though I am not very good at it, I love dancing... Contra Dancing, West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango (though I can't go a lot, for the perfumes and cologne). I play the piano a little.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Escaped religious fundamentalism.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make kombucha and prepare super healthy healing foods

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a traveler, I'll leave your house in better shape than I found it, and will try to find a way to help out...and of course, I offer a couch, contact, and assistance in my location any time in the future. If the situation is such that I'm not able to help out in return at the time, I can assure you I will pay it forward.

As a host, I've helped injured bikers heal up. I've sewed and reinforced ripped backpacks, provided sight seeing assistance, and will help out however I can. Often, travelers feeling run down from American food and chemicals end up staying here longer than they initially planned. Some catch up on sleep, and just recover their health and energy for a bit. It's a peaceful resting place here, in a quiet American neighborhood--not a touristy or night-life environment.
