About Me

I recently graduated from college in Baltimore, MD after studying Economics. I call Seattle home where my mom, dad, younger brother, and dog (a yellow lab named Tasha), reside. I will be moving to New York City in September, where I will be working at a beauty company.

I have lived in the U.S. for most of my life, but have moved around a lot stateside. My dad is a doctor and did his internships and residencies in different places, resulting in a lot of moves for the family. I owe those experiences to my love for traveling to different places, experiencing new things, and meeting people from all over. I went to boarding school for high school on the East Coast, an experience that made me a lot more independent and mature. I picked up horseback riding there, something that I have not done in awhile but count as one of my passions.

I studied abroad during college in Paris, an experience that changed my life in the best possible way. (It sounds cheesy, but I don't know how else to describe my experience there in any other way.) It opened my eyes to a different perspective of the world that was different than what I was used to growing up - that of the American way of constantly working to achieve the next goal/milestone without really enjoying life in the moment. My life in the U.S. greatly lacked the abundance of culture, good food, and the pure enjoyment of life that I had encountered abroad. Since then, I have wanted to continue to explore the world, and hope to cross off many places and experiences on my bucket list in the years to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the world on a broke college graduate budget while meeting new people, and learning about different cultures and customs. I want to fully immerse myself in different places, rather than gain a superficial, touristy perspective of them.

I am new to this, but from what I have heard from friends who have done it, it is an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience. I have always enjoyed meeting new people from different places, and am excited to do so through this website.

Interests

I love eating good food from cool restaurants and discovering new cuisines from around the world. Along with that, I also enjoy cooking my own food. I don't eat meat but I eat seafood so I tend to make a lot of salmon and scallops. I also love cheese and bread, as any of my friends would tell you...(they would say that I have a mild obsession with the two, especially when paired with red wine and grapes.) I also enjoy spending time with my friends, exploring cool places (bars, restaurants, stores etc.), and reading fashion magazines. I will also take an excuse to shop :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to help out backstage at Paris Fashion Week, and saw Kanye West at one of the shows. I have also gotten to be an extra in several TV shows and movies, one of which Keira Knightley starred in so I got to stand a foot away from her for several hours while we filmed part of a scene.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Spain, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, United States
