ABOUT ME

My friends would say I'm sociable, polite, curious, extroverted, too neat and clean and easy going. They might say that it's easy for me to meet people and talk to them and that I'm someone genuine who likes to get to know people on a deeper level than just surface talk. They'd say I'm a loyal friend, and that at times I can be silly/playful but also serious when the occasion calls for it. I go with the flow pretty much.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like the point of life is to gather as many experiences as you can, learning as much as you can, trying to understand as many people and loving as much as you can, and to try and come out of it not having hurt yourself or others as much as possible. I appreciate all of my feelings, good and bad. I believe in feeling the fear, but doing it anyway so that you can minimize regret. My Cuban tres teacher told me once "You never know, when the day will come that someone who's crossed paths with you, may be in a position to help you." In other words, don't be an ass to people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couch surfing, and generally willing to explore this novel way of getting to know new places, people, cultures, music and dances!

Interests

Live music. I'm a musician, so this is big for me. Different cultures. Dancing. Exploring and adventures. I love meeting new people. I like playing music for people! I love reading, and movies! Going for jogs/runs. Learning! Feeling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Staying at my friends' cabin in the mountains of Chile and sleeping under the black night with all the stars.

Seeing my favourite band in the world, Los Van Van, perform in Cuba for the first time.

Playing for the Montreal Jazz Festival to a huge crowd of people on the street!

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach guitar, percussion, music theory, and occasionally help with English/Spanish. I can speak French some, but would love to practice more, and the same goes for Portuguese! I also teach Cuban salsa dancing for beginners.

I love, love love to learn! If you have anything you want to teach me be it a practical skill set, concepts that help guide internal work of self, music/instruments: cooking dishes from your culture, yoga, how to be awesome in any way!...I'd love to learn it!
