About Me
Hi everyone! My name's Victor, but that is already at the top of my profile. After a four year long couchusurfing hiatus due to the crushing stress of engineering school and complete lack of free time I am finally re-integrating into couchsurfing community!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing to meet people in my community and introduce newcomers to my city. And, when I travel, to meet local people and get to know these new places as seen by locals
Interests
Following my training in engineering, my biggest interests are science and technology. This also includes niche topics like hydroelectric power, water resources and properties of concrete, and if anyone ever feels the need to learn more about any of these I can gladly explain :)
Over the last few years, I have also become interested in experiencing more remote parts of Canada. Having worked in construction, I have got to travel to and live in more isolated parts of my province, such as Northern Vancouver island and Haida Gwaii
In the past, I have taken digital photography classes and have been experimenting with film photography, developing and printing my own black and white photos. Even though I don't have an access to a darkroom anymore, I still feel more inclined towards using my old 35mm film camera. During school, unfortunately, this hobby has been taken to the back burner but hopefully it might also be making a comeback

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have hitchhiked across Canada, visiting almost every province (sorry PEI), every major city and every ocean (Pacific, Arctic and Atlantic). On that trip, I have gone as far North as Churchill MB and as far East as Cape Spear NL. On that trip, I have also seen seen a whale in every Canadian ocean: killer whales in the Pacific, belugas in the Arctic and a humpback in the Atlantic.
What I Can Share with Hosts
