ABOUT ME

I grew up in the country, 60km north of Adelaide (South Australia) adopting a love for animals and nature. When I was 18 I went to live in Finland for a year as an exchange student. I was the first in my family to go overseas and I would say it changed my life. Since then it's been about where I am going and what my next trip is. These days its less about moving too much and more about seeing the slower side of a country. A few months around parts of Asia, a volunteering project in Costa Rica, a detox retreat in Bali or a fitness training camp in Thailand to name some of my previous trips. I have set off again but this time I don't have a time period, a clear plan or a return date. I set off with a one way ticket and a rough idea of where I'd like to end up for a while and not sure what will come along on the way. In the past people have been a big part of my experiences so I'm ready to meet some great people that will only enrich my experience in the place I go or even influence when and where I go next. I have been in Asia since July 2014. Starting in Vietnam and heading to Cambodia, followed by Thailand for six months, then India for a Job that fell thru only to end up in Canada in a two year work permit.

These days I'm back in Australia, working out what I want to do when I grow up :)

PHILOSOPHY

I'm here... You're here and I guess I don't know why and I'm not sure I need to know but I'm ok with learning all about it as I go along. The world can be a scary place inside our mind at times until we venture out and reinstate our faith with all the good in this world. We create our realities and I like mine to be peaceful. I'm learning to live in the present and not buy into the should haves and trying not to be induced to planning too far into the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I havent 'lived" in a house for a few years, I travelled with work and often on the move i have used websites like Airbnb. I have heard many stories of couchsurfing and often felt a little skeptical to be completely honest. I watched one couch at a time and volunteered with one of the guys in it so ended up deciding I couldn't knock it until I had tried it. What I have found is that regardless of where I am in the world and what type of trip I'm on, the people I meet can be a crucial part of the overall experience. When I go to a place, especially a new culture I like to do the non tourist things too. I like to just hang out and be and observe. Experience the food and the coffee and people watch to learn about others.

Interessen

Travel, cultures, the natural world, spirituality and Buddhism, psychology, Wholistic and alternative medicine. I really love to learn about people. I am what you may call a 'people watcher' not in the creepy sense but more of the sit and drink coffee and watch the world. I enjoy drinking coffee and happy to have a drink and a chat. I love learning about new things! I will sit and watch a good doco anyday and even the movies I watch I love it when they have an information base or something to leave you thinking.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music- I like commercial stuff and also a bit of reggae. I am quite unseasoned with music and still learning. I love the story tellers of the country music scene too.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

So many things in this world continue to amaze me.. I don't feel I have done anything amazing. Things that stick in My mind when I feel lucky Is snow angels in Finland, living in another culture, helping to build a house in central America, sailing around one of the Spanish Isles.. I feel lucky to feel that my home is made up of a Web of people that I can contact no matter where I am in the world and that despite what I possess nothing will make me feel more at home than their love.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I'm not sure what I can teach.. ENGLISH? I only have my experiences. I am the sum of all of them. I would love to learn about meditation, about history, I will learn more Spanish and about traditional medicine. I'm still learning what I can offer to others. I can talk to you about travelling solo vs with others and how being ok with uncertainty can open you up to a range of experiences

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I am happy to chat and also happy to be quiet. I don't need to fill the silence. I worked as a cleaner for a bit so there's a start, I can cook a few meals and I can offer you respect in your own home.
