About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy every moment of my life.
ABOUT ME
I was born in raised in Reno, Nevada. I moved to Washington, DC in August 2009 to intern on the Hill. Left in 2010 to participate in the National Civilian Community Corps, AmeriCorps program, which changed my life. Returned to DC to intern in the White House for the Vice President's Correspondence Department. Then took a job with a non-profit that assists people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. After four great years with the non-profit, I have moved to Los Angeles for grad school and stayed in sunny SoCal.
I love traveling and hope this site will facilitate in those travels.
PHILOSOPHY
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. - Tom Waits
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was a total DC Ambassador when I lived there and loved to show people the funky, fun, non-touristy stuff. I would love to meet other people in LA for something similar and get into some great adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I seriously like a bit of every genre, it just depends on my mood
Music: My music tastes are eclectic, but I'm one of those people that are more likely able to name actors and actresses in a movie, than name a band or musicians. I'm really addicted to talk radio and podcasts.
Books: Mainly fiction
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is very hard to narrow down, as I try to find amazing things in each day. Amazing is a relative term, right?
Teach, Learn, Share
I was on the planning board of Knowledge Commons DC, a free "school" in D.C. Our belief was that if you have had something to teach, there were others interested in learning. Our classes were held on the subway, in parks, in donated spaces, and ranged from lock picking to curing hangovers and everything in between. Luckily, the school is still running: http://knowledgecommonsdc.org/
Have totally considered finding like-minded people to start a Knowledge Commons L.A.
