ABOUT ME

I was born in Barcelona and I lived all my life in there except for a year when I moved to Santiago, Chile, to do the last year of Electronics Engineering, a career I don't really like. I should have studied Computer Engineering since I work as a programmer. Also, for a long time I thought of studying Journalism some day, but not any more because I ended the university so very much fed up of sudies.

I love sports. On January 2009 I finished 6th on my first ultramarathon, a race of 70 km between the cities of Licán Ray and Villarrica, in the south of Chile. After that I started taking seriously the long distance running and during 2010 I ran lots of races between 45 and 115 km. Right now I'm injured on my knee :( The bike is my main mean of transportation, and I also try to have a ride on the mountains every weekend. Besides that, I enjoy playing football.

I can sleep almost anywhere, even standing up if I'm tired enough.

My other hobbies are traveling, photography, twitter, reading, going out, and finding silly and weird stuff on the internet.

PHILOSOPHY

Traveling is one of the best things you can do with your free time. I love hiking and trekking on deserted national parks and going up to remote mountains, lakes and volcanoes. The sensation you get after a whole day of exercise with a heavy backpack on when you get to take a rest while the stars fill the sky is simply amazing. You always get a nice conversation whenever you find somebody on these kind of places, nothing better than sharing tips and experiences about the destinations you should be visiting and having a drink together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a long weekend in France with my girlfriend and had lots of fun with our host and his drunk friends. Also, I had three different hosts during my three week travel through Alaska and all of them were really nice and easy going people. When you travel by yourself, it is just awesome to have somebody who can show you around and take you to parties and places where you can meet new and friendly people.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

On 2007 I ran my first marathon (42.195 km), without training at all the three months prior to the event. That was because I have a chronic injury on my ankle and, at the moment, it was hurting a lot, so I just went to the gym and made sure to get it ready to survive such a long distance. I ran during 5h 36min, and after that I had fever, vomits, diarrhea and could hardly walk for two days... but man, I was so proud of myself I was about to cry :D

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I like to learn any kind of stuff. I can teach how to prepare sangria, a sweet alcoholic wine beverage that is just perfect for summers, and my apple variation on spanish omelet. I can also share tons of stories about the weird things that happen to me all the time.
