I am a 22-year-old masters student/geologist/musician from Riga, Latvia.

My main interests lay in natural sciences. I am interested in everything related to planet Earth and its geological history. If someone nearby mentions the name "rocks" my face instantly lights up, and I will strike up a conversation about geology, whether the person likes it or not.

Besides that, I am truly intrigued by music. I have been playing the guitar my whole life - as a songwriter, live performer, and music producer. My passion probably lies in the rock music - blues rock is my all time favourite genre - but I'm open to talk about almost any kind of musical style, as I listen to almost everything.
I am always interested in new musical experiences - feel free to ask me for a jam or even a songwriting session.

In my free time, I am always up for a board game or video game session. If you play MTG, we sure can get down for some serious business (commander is my favourite).
I am a big fantasy genre fan. My whole upbringing I was glued to the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books. I really enjoy movies like these as well.

Of course, I always enjoy going out, especially if it includes attending some concerts on the way. I'm extremely interested in the underground music culture of any country I visit. If you want to experience some great relatively unknown Latvian bands, I am the guy you should talk to.

Even in none of the above is quite your fancy, I always enjoy having a beer and a deep conversation about almost anything. A new opinion or perspective from a new friend is always something to experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people and experience new cultures. I believe that Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do so because it allows you to do so exactly (without any tourist traps), and quite cheaply.
