About Me

CURRENT MISSION

trips to Chicago and California before flying back to Germany in January

ABOUT ME

*new character trait acquired: fond of traveling

When I came to the United States in July, I was excited about the mere size of that country and all the opportunities regarding traveling. So many different regions (desert, mountains, glaciers, swamps etc) in one country. Awesome!!!

I'm also surprised and happy about the American hospitality. It might be superficial, but, as German, I wasn't used to strangers talking to me about different things for over an hour.
I'm not that talkative, usually. But here I really enjoy talking to the people around me and getting to know their thoughts about various thing.

I'm from a town in Southern Germany, called Kehl.
Looking east on sunny days, I see the Black Forest's mountains and can get there and go for a hike within an hour.

Going west one mile, I'm in France, in Strasbourg to be exact. I cross the German-French border which virtually doesn't exist anymore...no border patrols, no check points...that's the European way of a "free world".

It's been a while since I went sightseeing in my area. I guess, if something is just in front of your door, you don't appreciate it. You'd rather travel the world instead of acknowledging what's in your area.

PHILOSOPHY

I think it makes more sense talking about all that instead of writing a novel here ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently, I liked "Inglorious Basterd". It was funny, sitting in the cinema watching that movie without the need of reading the subtitles, whereas all the rest had to...

When it comes to music, I consider me as open-minded. I don't stick to a special genre. It just has to sound good...doesn't matter if it is electronic, hiphop, rock, pop, etc.

Books? Hm, the last things I've read, apart from my lonely planet travel guide, was Robert Ludlum's The Arctic Event. Pretty good...it took me 2 days :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
