Couchsurfing is the best way to meet people and get the insider's perspective of a new culture or land. It is much better than being limited to a tourist resort.

I traveled around the "world" in 14 days. Set out from Ottawa to New York, then flew to Milan, bussed to Munich, caught a ride share to Prague, finally flew to Tokyo. Best trip to date.
