Hey there, thank you for taking time to stop by my profile. I hope you’re doing great!

My name is Vijay, and I currently live in Montreal, Canada. Despite being a long time traveller, I am new to Couchsurfing and I am hoping I will find likeminded people who will help me settle in.

I love travelling, meeting new people, exploring places, and learning about different cultures. I have an immense sense of appreciation for life, the various flavours it brings, and I value kindness, positivity and mutual respect. I love getting outdoors, be it hiking, go kayaking, golfing, biking, rowing, ice skating, or on road trips.

I am planning a RTW for the summer of 2025 to spend my 150k + AmEx points, and it will be great to find a travel partner, HMU!

Otherwise, I am a civil servant with the Canadian Government (provincial) driving health-tech, data analytics & AI. I am passionate about AI-Tech Startups/VCs, have a master-level research degree in Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), and, before COVID-19, as a hobby, I used to do CrossFit, teach yoga, and conduct executive mindfulness sessions.

Finally, if at it all this matters (which I believe should not), I am an Indo-Canadian with loose ties to Malaya/Singapore and, more importantly, I identify as a global citizen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling, meeting new people, exploring places, and learning about different viewpoints, perspectives and cultures. Couchsurfing is a new dimension that I am exploring to my travels, and I hope to make some meaningful connections and learn new things along the way. Be kind!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Go hiking in Wales with no plans or maps.

The runner up is flying in to London Heathrow with no idea on how to find the High Street, Street pre-google maps days, only to carve the path to be at Glastonbury a few years down the line.
