Hello Peeps!

I'm Vijay, born and brought up in the southern most part of India where I pretty much spent the first twenty years of my life in the same city and rarely traveled. To step out of my comfort zone, I moved to Lille, France for my Master's degree. During my internship and work-study program, I had the luxury of enjoying a tourist-free Paris for two years thanks to COVID. Unexpectedly received an offer to move to Salzburg, and now I work for your favorite Energy drink brand! (If you are a Monster Energy fan, sorry guys it won't work between us :p)

Update 2024: I'm back to Paris again! and now I work for your favourite Yoghurt brand.

Jokes aside, I love to Run, Read, Cook, and catch some good zzz's after a long day. Training for a Triathlon, and long distance walking/running right now. I spend waaaay too much time on Reddit (mostly on cricket, finance, and memes subbreddits not the incel kind, don't judge lol) and Spotify (Drop some music or podcast recommendation in the DMs pls). Always up for talking about absolutely anything over a drink.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Deep down I know that the real reason is that I'm looking for more motivation to clean up my place and be a nice host.

But the actual objective is to share my privilege of having some nice space in a touristy city to host any students or travelers, listen to their stories, and make more friends.

Whilst it's so obvious that Couchsurfing is not a dating platform, after listening to some horror stories from both my female and male guests I feel obliged to explicitly declare my expectations here

- I'm not looking for any dates, hookups, one night stands or anything from my guests or this platform. The only thing I expect from my guests is to respect my house rules and other guests. If you would like to share something with me please bring any snacks or sweets from your country or prepare a meal. I'd be happy if we just share some stories over a cup of tea.

- I respect your personal beliefs, but I'm not a nudist neither are most of my guests. So please remain clothed in the shared spaces at my place.

My Music taste is pretty broad, and sometimes absolutely random. My most-played songs shuffle between death metal to Disney soundtracks. This year's top artists on Spotify are Tame Impala, Hans Zimmer, The Weeknd, AR Rahman, and Anirudh Ravichandar.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I have signed up for the Megamarsche walking 100 Kilometres in 24 hours with some friends, can I keep this as a placeholder and accountability statement till I finish 😂

Update: I did it! And I will be doing it again in August 2024 in Copenhagen.

Moving to France with my F*ck all French would've been my response, but after improving my French I moved to Austria without knowing a word of German was pretty amazing I would say.
