About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world, learn new things and meet awesome people!

ABOUT ME

I'm a very open, friendly, honest person, who respects life and everything in it. I aspire to see as much of the world and meet as many diverse people as I can. Unfortunately I'm pretty restricted to traveling only 15 days a year (due to my job), but I'd love to meet new people from all around the world.

I like to have an excellent time wherever I am, whether it be dancing chaotically at a music festival, drinking beer and having meaningful conversations, or anything in between. Meanwhile, I love reading as much as I can. When I'm not, I try to be a pseudo intellectual armchair philosopher.

My long term mission is to make this world a better place for all of us. I make sure that people I care about are happy.

PHILOSOPHY

Humility can make you cross oceans and surmount the highest peaks.

Carpe diem!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I welcome every opportunity to host guests from every corner of this marvelous planet. I hope to share the experiences & opportunities that this world and life has to offer.

A naturally explorative mind and a constant desire to learn more has made me embark on a journey to gain cross cultural exposure..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I believe very firmly that the world is a colorful place and that every human being that crosses our path makes us richer. So Hello new people :)

I have hosted many people, many whom I have met in my travels. I tend to use hostels and camp when I travel. Since I have joined CS I have more opportunities to host even more travelers. I've heard most crazy & awesome travel tales and have never failed to get inspired and carve a few of my own.

I have been backpacking India for almost an entire decade now , These are the place I have travelled within India.

visited 17 states (48.5%)

Interests

I love collection currencies around the world, Thanks to my CS friends and other good fellas, I have currency notes over 65 countries of the world. And about 300 unique coins.

I love to cycle around the countryside, urban spaces and hills. I have a Montra Rock 1.1 and have clocked over 4000 KM on it. (And multiple knee injuries too :P)

Overtime I've developed love for photography among the other things, I have a Nikon D60 with 18-105mm lens which lets me capture the most beautiful memories around.

I also read a lot of books, a lot of them. Listen to a lot of music, , a lot of them. All this when I'm not on my Laptop or fiddling with one of my 180 apps on my Android phone.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Alternative & Indie Mix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Nirvana, Radiohead, The Who, Queen, Iron Maiden, Eminem, Reggae, PitBull and sometimes EDM (Tiesto, Skrillex & Daft Punk) as required ;)

Movies: The Godfather, Castaway, Drive, Requiem for a Dream,Pulp Fiction, The Breakfast Club, The Shawshank Redemption, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, The American Beauty, Waking Life, Landscapes, Spanglish, Best in Show, Good, Bad & Ugly, Tao of Steve, Into the Wild, How to Steal a Million Dollars, Charade, Woman on Top, The Darjeeling Limited, The Pursuit of Happiness, What A Way To Go.

The list is overwhelming and I'm completely sure it would be absolutely impossible to fit in this box.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Solo bike trip across the Indian subcontinent on a very rickety bike.
- Volunteered 3 months of teaching (Science) to kids at an NGO near Thanjavur, Tamilnadu circa 2009.
- Stayed with tribals of north Karnataka in a dense forest for 3 days, Absolute no common language. Ate Wild Rabbit, Wild Boar, Gaur (Indian Bison), Pigeons & many other animals for the first time, all in the same trip. Without getting sick. I gave them a lot of Vodka in return, Cheers!!
- Hunting wild animals in a jungle (Along with villagers I stayed with) the entire night (11 pm to 4 am) with no artificial lights or modern weapon (I just had a mace spray and a swiss knife).
