About Me

I have recently developed from a lazybone into a keen traveller and world-explorer. Not that I hadn't travelled before, but never on my own.

I am a student currently focusing on finally getting my MA degree in American studies. I am still imagining that after finishing my studies, I will have plenty of time for travelling and other good things (haha).

As you can see from my photos, I am a lover of animals of any kind (before I decided to study history, I used to dream of becoming a biologist :)).

And of course, I am open-minded, like everyone on CS.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From the places I visit, I usually remember the talks much better than the walks. I have several times stayed with a host family when visiting a country. It always amazed me what I could learn from the people and would never have come across otherwise.

Though my current living arrangement doesn't allow me to host (btw, working on it!), I am looking forward to being a guide for anyone who is interested in exploring my hometown, Prague. In fact, I am still exploring the city myself and a company would be welcome!

Interests

History and politics, hiking and photographing, bouldering and horse riding.

COOKING AND EATING. All right, I don't mean to overemphasize it, I certainly don't spend all my time thinking about food. But gastronomy is gradually becoming one of my greatest hobbies. Plus it's a good way to experience other cultures.

I enjoy hanging out with friends, but usually prefer quiet evenings with (or without) a glass of wine to noisy parties.

I LOVE playing board games!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy escaping from studying to books I loved to read as a child: mystery stories and fantasy series. Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and recently Game of Thrones.

I usually watch movies about modern history events or current politics. Then I try to persuade myself that I will make use of the knowledge I gain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent one semester abroad. It amazed me that I was able to do that. (Joke, but there's something about it - do you remember your feelings when you were far from home just on your own for the first time?)

I have seen many rare animal species in nature, like a baby seal in Greece. I have slept in a tent in the middle of a snow-covered forest in South Bohemia (and will never do that again). I have helped discover an entirely unexplored cave in Moravia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would especially like to learn about other people's travelling experiences.

I can teach you basics on guitar - but want to learn more!

I am always happy when I have an opportunity to speak French and German or to use my (three) favourite phrases in Greek.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am considered to be a great cook (and I especially enjoy cooking in other people's kitchens).

Besides, I know many stories, fairytales and songs from my home country. And I can sing and play a guitar a little.
