My name's Vikki and I really like travelling and meeting new people and sleeping on their couches! I'm new-ish to Couchsurfing... I'm more familiar with Warmshowers.org because my last trip was a big bike tour! But, I'm working on building up my CS-cred!

I am... a lot of things? Currently: Master's student at Lakehead University studying food security in the North, and part-time radio show host on CILU radio (you can check it out at www.luradio.ca under "Listen" under "Soapbox Beats" ;) ). I am an ex-forest fire fighter and lived in Pickle Lake, ON for 3 summers straight to try save Bambi and make Smokey the Bear proud. I have bicycled across Canada, and spent time Wwoofing in rural Newfoundland. I played tuba in high school and almost considered pursuing it further, just so one day I could call myself a Doctor of Tubas... And I'm always looking for new adventures and new learning experiences!

I'm easy to get along with; I like to say please and thank you; I like to go on hikes and spend time in the great outdoors; and I like trying new foods and new beers in new places :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking to meet some cool people in the places I'm visiting, as well as looking for a place to rest my weary head. And I'm looking to pay it forward after all the love and hospitality I met on my bike trip by hosting people in my own home. It's always great to meet people who know the area well and make new friends to go on adventures with - which is something I look for when I'm travelling, and I try to provide to people passing through T-Bay :)
