About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Successfully plan my epic trip to New Zealand!
ABOUT ME
I try to facilitate the sort of world that I would like to live in. This includes a culture of trust, community, sharing, and support, so I try to offer such things to others when I have the chance to do so.
I have a good group of friends and we hang out at our local pubs and that sort of thing. I enjoy live music and am pretty connected to a lot of local musicians. Ireland rugby makes the world go around. I happen to be the person in Colorado who doesn't ski or snowboard.
PHILOSOPHY
Be honest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted several times and will surf some in New Zealand.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Several hosting experiences and a meetup or two.
Interests
I play, watch, and thoroughly enjoy rugby. I love all kinds of sports and I am always up for going to any sort of athletic event, but rugby always comes first. I like beer very much, in particular craft beer, which is very good around here. I admit it, I like TV. And I'm always up for a concert of pretty much any sort. I like classic rock and alternative music mostly. My favorite XM channel is First Wave.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: David Bowie, Gaelic Storm, Seal, Sinéad O'Connor, Luka Bloom, the Indulgers, Blue October, Pink Floyd, the Stones, Snow Patrol, Henry Rollins, the Pogues, Amy Winehouse, Adam and the Ants, Loverboy, Ian Moore, Jane's Addiction, the Who, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Fleetwood Mac...these are some of my favorites, but the list indeed goes on and on.
"The Phantom Tollbooth" is my favorite favorite book in the world, but again, a wide range of interests. I've been more into memoirs and nonfiction than in novels lately. I also have a secret throwback affection for the Sweet Valley High series.
My favorite movie of all time is "School of Rock." Before that, my favorite movie (and still one of my favorites) is "Shallow Grave." In addition to those two favorites, I own the following on DVD: American Dreamz, The Chocolate War, Fletch, Foul Play, Labyrinth, Murderball, Notes on a Scandal, Seems Like Old Times, the Terminator movies (all three of them - T2 is the best), and Trainspotting. I also have Flash Gordon, Better Off Dead, Clue, and Dazed and Confused on VHS.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have ever done is volunteer as the liaison for the Irish rugby team when they were here in Colorado for the Churchill Cup tournament. I worked very closely with them for about three weeks, I got to hang out with them and get to know them fairly well. It was really an indescribable experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know pretty much everything about David Bowie, and I can help you understand sports - not only how they are played, but why they are relevant in our culture (even if you don't dig them, which is totally OK). I have impeccable grammar and spelling and I can explain to you all of those grammar rules you never quite understood. I'm also a pretty decent social ballroom dancer and I can teach you to cook delicious vegan meals!
