About Me
***Currently not hosting until October because I’m not in Vienna***
Hi everyone!
My name is Viktor, I'm Croatian living in Austria.
🇭🇷🇦🇹🇪🇺
I'm now enrolled in Master's studies of Conference Interpretation at the University of Vienna.
My working languages are Serbo-Croatian, German and French - but I also speak English, Greek and Russian.
🗣️: 🇭🇷🇦🇹🇺🇲🇫🇷🇬🇷🇷🇺
In private life, I work as legal translator, translating to and from Serbo-Croatian, and from Russian and Greek into German. I also work as Croatian and German language tutor - both online and face-to-face.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here because I adore travelling and I've already visited more than 20 countries!
I would like to meet people from different parts of the world to learn about their country and their culture.
I’m close to finishing my Master’s and I’m also trying to figure out what to do later in life :)
I can host in Vienna (since October 2023 finally in a private apartment - yaaay!) and I am always more than happy to give you a guided tour or to have a drink with you in Split (Croatia) when I’m there!

Music, Movies, and Books
Recently I’ve been listening mostly to Russian-language music, but I also love Greek and Serbian music!
I love Harry Potter - both the movies and the books - and I love all crime novels ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I visited the oldest settlement in Europe - located in Lin, Albania - I spent five days in an Albanian village with my friend from Vienna and his family - I learnt a lot about Albanian culture and hospitality of the people 🇦🇱
I spent one week in Kosovo in a USA/EU-led project to support democracy and visited the Kosovar countryside 🇽🇰
I visited the UN buffer zone and the Akrotiri British military base in Cyprus - I was hanging out with Cypriot locals including priests practising my Greek and struggling with the Cypriot local accent 🇨🇾
I volunteered five months as a translator for Ukrainian refugees in Vienna, I supported the stay of the refugees in Austria and the transit to Germany for those who wanted that 🇺🇦
During the corona pandemic, I did online lessons of Portuguese and Danish language for fun 🇧🇷🇩🇰
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always interested in language exchange: tell me how to say “cheers” in your language :)
Also, as a history enthusiast, we can talk about history of our cities and countries!
