About Me

I'm Viktoria, originally from Stuttgart, studying in Hildesheim.

I'm an outdoors person, I'm much into arts and languages. I would also describe myself as a positive and active person. I can't imagine not being out in the nature and going hiking and swimming in summer and going skiing in winter. Outdoor activities are an important part of my life.
It's the same with music. I went backpacking for 2 1/2 months last year and at one point I missed my musical instruments so much that I even thought about buying myself a cheap violin. In the end I didn't and went to a concert instead, but it didn't help a 100%.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get to know different people, to exchange stories and experiences and to broaden my horizon. Every time I meet someone who's from another place, I realise once again that people all over the world aren't that different.

Interests

Arts, culture and outdoor activities.
-- theatre and music (quite musically too), both watching/listening to it as well as doing it by myself
-- languages! Unfortunately not enough time to practice and to use my language knowledge as much as I'd like
-- foreign countries & cultures
-- hiking, skiing, going for walks, exploring places by myself...

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music is definitely the best. I like to listen to a lot of different genres like jazz, singer songwriter, punk rock or hip hop. All depending on my mood.

Some of my favourite authors are Jeannette Walls and Thomas Glavinic. I can only recommend his novel "Das größere Wunder", for those of you who are German-speaking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The colours of the landscape in Western Australian whilst road-tripping up to Kalbarri. So intense! The grey road, the blue sky and the yellow wildflowers everywhere.

Same with the sea. The feeling of an upcoming storm and the wind everywhere, this sudden feeling of being so small.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Having nice conversations, exchanging experiences and stories. Maybe a spontaneous jam session?
