About Me

ABOUT ME

A person who can wear high heels one day, and be ready for 10 days camping with hitchhiking the next day.

PHILOSOPHY

Not better, not worse, just different.
Live as fast as you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had a few ups and downs on CS - I hosted quite a few people when I first joined CS (I used to host ppl in my student dormitory in Ukraine), and I had a long break when I first moved to London, then I met a whole bunch of super awesome people in April 2014, and have been meeting more and more CSurfers living in London. Was hosting Aug 15-Aug 16 when living in a truly awesome houseshare with 4 friends - our little 'private members club' :) Was hosting once again in 2017-18, and now on the road myseld

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted people in my dormitory in Ukraine, where they needed to climb the second floor balcony to avoid angry concierges, where they could party all night and get to know 500 other people in one night..
But I realized the true value of CS once I moved to London and didn't have any friends here. The way CS connects ppl is incredible, and still fascinates me. I have no doubts that the friends I have made through CS are truly friends for life . It also fascinates me how easy and painful it is to waive goodbyes to fellow CS, who never stay at the same place for too long!

Interests

Currently long term travelling while searching for a meaningful way to make an impact.

Reading, writing, journalism, hitchhiking, camping, hiking, alpine skiing =)

1) I love reading, reading everything and everywhere. pss Sometimes I can be stuck in the bathroom for hours forgetting where I am only because I don't want to be distracted from reading the final chapter..

2) Travelling is my absolute passion. Mountains, tent... fire.. Music and guitar. Telling stories and just looking at the fire for long hours..

3) Love going for walks in unfamiliar cities.. But I can only truly fall in love with a city if I walk there at night, listen to the sounds, sniff the smells. Generally I don't like big cities, and London and Lisbon are very exceptional. Smaller towns have much greater chances to win my heart with their tiny shops and cobblestone streets.

4) Friends are just part of me. You can become my friend even if we only met once. I believe in chemistry between ppl.
5) Like foreign languages: english, french, spanish...
I also speak Russian.
6) Love handmade, crafts...
7) Love alpine skiing
8) Volunteering is something I regularly do and try to drag my friends into
9) Love a good desert. I consider myself a decent cook, but I am absolutely terrible with baking. When I cook I never measure the ingredients, and carrying this habit onto baking really doesn't work very well!
10) Like to be someone my friends come to to tell the darkest secret, and the biggest worry. I will give them a hug and a nice psycho therapy=)
And it will end up in us crying all night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dove with sharks in Philippines; had 20+ monkeys jump all over me in Amazon; visited Galapagos Islands, paraglided in Ecuador, rescued a kitten from being fed to a snake in Honduras...

I am really missing my kitchen at home so would be very happy to cook! Equally happy to do the dishes & help with other chores.
I will share some great travel stories as long as you are ready for me to throw in a few laughs, indecent comments & TMI into the mix!
