Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing gives a possibility to experience new country in a completely different way. While traveling and meeting people who are natives or lives in particular country, one gets more knowledge about the country, city, culture of the new land. Also, it is fun to meet people from couchsurfing community

Via couchsurfing I am traveling from 2012 and already met people in Brussels, Paris, Antwerpen, Eindhoven, USA, Bremen, Aachen. It is always gives lot of joy

Interests

As long as I am an art student, I am interested in everything that is related to this area: art history, documents of of art, art ideas affects in social and cultural life, artists' biographies, etc. Also, there is an area where I am trying to express my artistic attitude.

Of course, art is not all I do. I love to read (even this sounds pretty banal), so I am also opening a publishing house in Lithuania where books related to culture will be translated and published. I also play music, used to play in a band for some time with bass guitar, but because of studies had to quit it.

Also, I do sports, design, dancing and other random thingies.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. I like jazz music, even though I am not so sophisticated in jazz, but I have my favourites: Chet Baker, Wynton Marsalis, Amstrong. I also like experimental one. Minimal classic music with Philip Glass in foreground. Also, not afraid to listen to Pink Floyd or hard rock music. Benjamin Clementine, Funkadelic, Red Hots. Yea, I like various music.

Movies. I am not very good at names of the films, but for sure I don't like horror movies. I like mainly movies based on real stories or those who reflecting on certain subject not in a indulge way.

Books. My favourite authors are Nikos Kazantzakis, Milosz, Bulgakov (for sure I forgot some). I also like Lithuanian poetry, I am familiar with Greek, some modern, some enlightment philosophies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Maybe that was my trip to Paris via couchsurfing at the age 15 with the girl I met only 3 times. I don't find it as amazing, but I always remember it while talking about the craziest thing I have done.

Sending my request to University 15 min before deadline. Then start studying there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I haven't probably taught anyone in a very academic way, but I soon I will start giving classes in University for people over 60 y.o. about art and creativity.

Learning is my weakness.. I would probably exchange party for a lecture (thanks God, that the timing is always different). I am interesting in eastern and mediterranean cultures, history, philosophy (la la la), different attitudes towards art, media, politics.
Also, I want to learn more about music, cause I am playing the guitar since I was 14 but still don't know much theory about it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Chats about art, history, politics, music, food, geography, also. Have a nice evening out in the city, play some music, have some drinks in the city. Collaborate to create something interesting for both.
