My current mission is enjoying life and learn to do back flip!

ABOUT ME

I spend my very active life around circus and dance. Couldn't really live with out! At the summer i perform in many different festivals like Ruisrock and H2Ö. I also work as a waitress in Karu izakaya (Japanese restaurant in Turku). In the summer best is that you can do hand stands almost every where.

I like to cook and enjoy a little things of life like festivals and clubing nights. SO i probably won't let you be alone and show you Turku's best side. I'm not a shy dancer! If i go to club i don't like to sit, i like to dance all night long. Nowadays i'm more behind the bartender's table... working my ass of so i can travel.

Some people call me "hype", because i'm always going some where or i just have many things going on. And that is true i might be those kind of people who never can't be still, but for the balance i have met my JERE. I have learned to ease up my work load and take time to breath. When i'm in doubt Jere always picks it up and make me calm. It is cliché to say, but we complete each other.

I don't really care about money which
makes some times living in Finland very hard, because here money is always needed. In a perfect world i would travel around with Jere and Mörkö. And we would make a living by my circus/dancer jobs and maybe started own " food car" (Offering all kinds of different dishes all around the world). Materialism makes me really sad time to time and that is one reason why i have choosen circus disiplines, which only need one thing: my body! More of my way to see The World -> i don't belong in any religion (yet), but i'm very interested about mythology (example in Finland we have Kalevala).

We have also our little dog, Mörkö, her name means in English bogeyman, but she isn't scary at all. Actually she got her name after Moomi's (children's tv-program) character. She is now 4,5 years old and our little adventurer shar pei - dog. Maybe the hardest thing when we travel is to leave her. I really don't have any other problems to leave and travel around because i feel like home almost every where. I could say i'm World's citizen. Luckily Jere's mom always takes good care of Mörkö. Thanks to her! Hopefully in the future we will take Mörkö with us to live some where in Europe or Asia, some where i can practice my skills/perform and Jere could use his good people skills.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If i'm honest i find this the cheapest way to travel in new places, but don't get me wrong i also love to host people. I have been hosting people since i was exchanging in Sweden. I believe that sharing is caring. If you are good to people and want so see good things hapen you also have to do good things to deserve it. Sleeping on a couch is really common in artist life. Traveling, performing and teaching in different places doesn't really let any different options.

Couchsurfing is great community which really gives so much more opportunities to travel in new places (especially us who doesn't have so much money, but need to travel). I haven't been couchsurfing through this page before, but hope to get new friends, learning new things and hopefully learning a few new languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

I big fan of minions. Now it is out i'm a bit childish that way. I have grown up with anime, manga and cartoons. I used to draw all of my favorite characters and now i have a boyfriend who is really in to similar things. Well maybe he is a bit more gamer. In a books i prefer fantasy and professional everything which includes circus/dance. What i would be, if i would know my professions history!

My relationship with music has always been connected to dance and circus. Collecting good new songs to perform with is always on. And i find my music in many different places. When i train i enjoy listening more of house /electro house /saxophone jams. I have really listen wide gender of music. Mostly it depends on my mood of the day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have over come many challenges especially in circus training. Many of my fears has been beaten and i found it totally amazing! One of my most amazing things what i have decited to do was to apply in Turku's Conservatorium dancer training program and go for a unknown area. This decision makes me every day happier and happier, because i can fully do something, what i love as profession. I haven't never been a writer or good to talk, but trough my body centered career i can fulfill my ideas and speak, if i have something to say. Dance and circus have brought so many amazing thing/skills/people in my life it is hard to list them all (for example i have worked in Sweden with The Celidance company and learned to eat/blow a fire). This is really one of the things, which i have always wanted to learn. And now i have started to overcome my fears and get to learn this amazing skill.

One thing is our first trip together(with my boyfriend), which really deserves to be mentioned. It was as near as Sweden, but it was unforgettable. We needed both a get-away holiday and just got a boat tickets to Stockholm. We spended whole trip just wondering around and eating good food. That was the moment i knew i have found my future traveling partner around the world; this became our dream and obsession.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you circus (hand standing and acrobatics are my specialities) or dance maybe some new impressive moves to show off on dance floor. I'm also quit good drawer and can fix a little things like chairs (both parents carpenters as their first professions).

I like to cook and i'm pretty good cooking so called super foods dishes. I have been kind of fan for a long time. I like to know where my food is coming and it's origins. Pure food is better for your body and brains.

I can also share my traveling stories and experiences in my view of point. In this profession i meet many different kind of people and it just makes more exciting about everything. Every job and gig is always different.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my great sense of humor and my abilities to entertain as a performer. I am also a great(ish) cook and i get along with animals very well. And last but not least I don't snore!

My origins come from really north part of Finland and also from Karelo ( the part of Finland where Russians drowe Finnish people away in a war very long ago). For me (half Karelo) it is custom to bring something as a present always when you meet new people. So probably you well be getting some "bribes" from Finland.
