ABOUT ME
Angela: What to say... I have been here and there, trying to find something normally out of Spain, chance brought me to Istanbul, a little bit big for me. I prefer smaller cities, where you can walk, and even know many people in the streets, but I guess that will come later in life. I met Berdan here and so I have decided to stay for who knows how long. But never forever! I am going to describe Berdan and so he will describe me, so we are more objective about character. He is a young man, very very sweet inside. He can be funny with people he likes, and no very talkative if he is bored with a group of people. I guess the language is always a barrier for all of us! He is just a good person, what can I say, I married him! He likes calm (but not death) people, he adores futbol (Galatasaray) and over all theater, his way of expresing. I would like to join him more often, but my turkish is also a bit limited. Now his time.
Berdan: I am from Adana (south of Turkey)originaly, but I'm here for studying for 5 years already.Lets describe Angela. I have to confess that she is more sociable than me and she likes to meet new people and also to travel. I think it is fun to pass time with her and she is a nice guide for Istanbul.
PHILOSOPHY
We all have something interesting, first of all for us, and no doubt for some others. we have understood that trying to convince people about your ideas is a waste of time, because we (6000 million people) have all our own, and we think we are right. So the thing is to share and to learn from the others, that's the way we will change from inside, and also the people around us. We don't personally believe in any perfect society trend, We believe in individuals and in common sense (the least common of all senses:)) And over all we believe in education to form good sensitive people, with their own criteria about things. Uff, so much more to say! But we can always talk directly if there is interest on it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Now that we can finally travel a little bit more thanks to Berdan's visa, we want to share this amazing city with people from other wonderful places. I got tired of travelling just to visit places and monuments long time ago. Actually I normally visit friends (this is Angela, by the way). I consider that knowing a country is knowing it's people and daily life, and human contact is what make us understand cultures and break with prejudices and understand the world better. That's why we finally decided to enter this community. It can be a bit scary to open your home to strangers, but then we could be missing really great people. I also understand that very close friendship is difficult to gain in one trip, but there are many other things to share.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Living in Istanbul means couching as definition. There are so many people wanting to come! Family, friends, friends of friends and some times strangers even that I found in the plane coming here. Our house is small but cozy. And of course we have been sleeping in friend's houses around Europe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Angela: I have been living in Finland for one year, and my favourite memory is in the sauna, frozen lake and... jumping in the water about 2-3 degrees! wonderful...
I also saw here in Istanbul one morning, very early from the bus to work, the Bosphorous covered with a mist like a snake, following perfectly the way of the water.
Berdan: I've been in USA for working for 3 months, for 20 days I couldn't start any job and I was almost begging for food:). But amazingly I survived! And I enjoyed the experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Spanish!! (lol) and maybe some Spanish kitchen eventhough I am not very good at it. We can be good guides for Istanbul.
