ABOUT ME

I'm a 30 something year old DJ/Producer, who is currently touring the world - off the DJ booth.

I left my day job in corporate world in October 2012 to travel the world together with my fiancée.

While still doing 40 hours a week in corporate sales (mainly selling Google AdWords) I was running five record labels, managing a TOP-100 list DJ, hosting my own club night (which was later on nominated for the best Finnish club of 2012) in Tampere, Finland and producing music on my own and together with bunch of colleagues. Most of these projects are still active although I'm on the road.

I'm working while on the road to create a reality where I don't need to back to the cubical, the rat race, 9-to-5, or what ever it is called that most people do to finance their living.

I'm interested in working better, working on my own terms and creating various incomes. Music is my life, but interested in various subjects from marketing to event producing, from management to personal growth and so forth.

Atm I'm traveling the world on a six-month RTW trip with my fiancée. We started in Japan in November, have been to Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia since and will go to Malaysia, Singapore, Seoul and to quite a few states of the US before heading home in late April 2013.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS but what I hope to find in this community is far more than just a place to sleep. While traveling with a partner I have found that it is harder to meet new people since everybody seems to think that because we have each other, we're not open for other conversations.

Meeting new people is such a big part of traveling, which is now left unseen for us. So via CS I hope that me and my fiancée would get to make new friends, meet new people and connect with people from all over the world.

While we are still on the road (until April 2013) I'm a surfer but once we get back home I'm looking forward to host as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None through CS but I have had a lot of friends to stay over at my place nonetheless :). My fiancée's good friend has couchsurfed a lot and hosted some people as well and I have been able to meet some of the people she's hosted.

Interests

Electronic music, composing, producing, making music and music in general.

I'm interested in personal growth, life hacking, entrepreneurship, working better, and finding life outside 9-to-5.

I'm also extremely interested in social media.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of Tim Ferriss' 4-hour philosophy and Malcolm Gladwell has written some of the best books of our generation. I rather read non-fiction books tagged under business, marketing or self-help, but while on the road, I've created a habit to (finally) read fiction as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in creating better music, and finishing it faster. I tweet about those things on daily basis under my main project @lopekantola. I'd love to talk and create music with follow musicians regardless the genre borders.
