About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to have a list of the amazing things I have done in life, and NOT a list of the things I would like to have done.

After exploring South and Central America, a fantastic 3 year long trip, I settled in Mexico. That turned into even a bigger adventure. Now back in Europe.

ABOUT ME

I get excited about little things. I don't need much to enjoy life and will choose an experience over a material thing any day. It's easy to put a smile on my face but it's equally easy for me to lose it. So just give me a little nudge and remind me to stop worrying so much (I do get carried away sometimes) :) I am a bit of an explorer, always looking forward to visiting new countries and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

There are certain things in life that you want to do but you may be afraid to do them. I say go for it. You may regret it later, but that's better than asking yourself: what if...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had co-hosted a few fellow couch surfers and I'm hoping to be able to do more once back from my travels. I have surfed the couches of some amazing people and the experience gives a completely different perspective to traveling

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've met up with some great people and looking forward to meet some awesome people during my trip.

CURRENTLY

Due to the pandemic and me being a mother, I am not ready to host, but happy to meet up :)

Interests

I have this dream about living in a house on the beach... So close to the water that I wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the waves... Heaven! Untill I find that perfect house (ah, what a heck, I'll settle for a simple beach hut), the beach is where I live. In the summer, without a fail, you'll find me soaking up the sun or jumping into the water. I'm a terrible cook myself so I find it fascinating to watch other people do it. A simple plate of food, bursting with flavours, will make me as happy as I can be. Add a brownie to that and I'll kiss you to no end... I love travelling, prefer going to the countries and far away places that are very different to what I'm used to. It's more fun that way, isn't it? And then I usually fall in love with the place and want to move there :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of a good movie and have a few favorites that leave just a puddle in my place within minutes... But that just shows I'm a softie and have a big heart :) I prefer paper books in my hands to the newest piece of technology... Some books make me think, some inspire me, and reading some I laugh so hard that the crumbs of the beautiful chocolate brownie come out of my mouth straight onto the pages of the said book (a true story while reading one of the books by Dawn French). As for music... Yup, it gets me to my feet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I find it absolutey unbelievable that I had a chance to live in NYC. Never mind that I got tired of it a year later and moved closer to the beach (see above :)... I had the best summer in my life working 20 h a day in the hotel/restaurant in Michigan. I'd have to be dragged home after work, I'd be so tired, but then again, it was all so good. At the end of it, one night, I was lying on the grass with the girls, looking at the stars in the sky and just feeling so damn lucky to have it all... Last year I took a bus from San Francisco to LA and swore to myself never to get on a Greyhound again (but I know I would). What's up with the girl clipping her nails just behind me? And what's that man doing licking his lips and his fingers every two minutes? :)
Almost a year into my trip in South and Central America, I am gobsmacked about what I've been through, some of it good, once in a life time experience, some of it bad, never again experience.

I have so much more to add to this now...

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, if you are up for it, I can teach you Lithuanian. But boy, you better be ready. It won't be easy!
I can also give you a little taste of my country by making a typical dessert from there, it's rich and chocolaty and sweet and you will love it :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are up for it, I will teach you a word or two of Lithuanian language, it´s not so difficult :) And I can show you how to make a very nice Lituanian dessert
