ABOUT ME

In 2010 I quit my boring office job in the Netherlands and I moved to China. I worked in Yangshuo for over 1 year as an English teacher. After that I cycled through the south west of China from Yangshuo all the way to Chengdu, 2400km in 8 weeks. Now I'm studying Chinese in Chengdu and teach a bit of English to make a living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far only met really great people during surfing, hosting or meetings. Though the best experience was a snowboard holiday with 30 couch surfers in the Swiss Alps for a week, met some crazy people there!

Interests

I love to play tennis, do some snowboarding in the winter and I'm interested in any other sport.
Cooking is a big hobby, but I also enjoy nice food with a good glass of wine with friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There're so many things, but the best is probably working as a cook on a fishing boat in Australia. At that time I was only 19 years old and had never cooked before. Once in a lifetime experience!!

And cycling through China was also pretty amazing.

I'm pretty good in tennis, but there are not many tennis courts around here in China unfortunately!
