Overview
About Me
Up for meeting new people, having good talks and trying out unfamiliar activities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new to the couchsurfing/hitchhiking/camping community. Normal traveling and being abroad has always been fun for me in the "traditional" sightseeing sense, but now, after recently finishing my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I want to take it up a step and start engaging more with local people or other travelers in general. Being trekking in Nepal half a year ago has been a start and simply showed me whats it's worth to meet new people literally every day for weeks in a row. Traveling "by myself" is definitely a factor that plays into this concept. I feel I've relied on groups of friends for too long when being abroad and am keen to start experimenting with more autonomous means of spending time in new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Starting small, but nonetheless exciting for me:
-Worked as a waiter/barkeeper in one of the oldest, busiest & down-to-earth bars of my student hometown for nearly a year with no previous experience; colleagues & guests were very straight-forward (no beating around the bush when mistakes were made) and tardiness wasn't accepted
-Having taken Improv-classes; really not that big a deal in retrospective, but to just go there for first time I really needed to overcome myself
-Having trekked in the Himalayas
-Doing sports everyday for 8 weeks in a row last summer, whilst simultaneously stopping to drink alcohol altogether. Really a great experience for having a feeling for your body (again), especially after having stopped doing anything for three years when starting university.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Germany, Singapore, Turkey, United Kingdom
