About Me

Creative director, artist, and fashion/portrait photographer.
Currently photo director and freelance travel writer based in Bangkok. Often traveling ...

I was born in Busan, South Korea and adopted (from Seoul) at age 3 by a Belgian/French family.

I lived and studied Visual Communications in Brussels - Belgium before apprenticing with some renowned fashion photographers.

My French/Belgian mother influenced my pursuit of beauty and was my muse as she was full of elegance, very cultivated and warm-hearted. I often visited her in Burgundy (Bourgogne), then Provence - in the South of France.

In 1992, I moved to Paris to take on assignments for a variety of famous Parisian top model agencies, building models’ portfolios and worked for a number of French fashion magazines including Marie Claire bis.

My Korean roots 'called me' back to Seoul in June 1995 for the first-ever visit back to the ‘homeland’. After being fascinated by a fast developing society and bringing a welcoming ‘French touch’ into Korean glossy magazines, I finally decided to move back to South Korea - Seoul in 1996 (until 2010).

I have contributed fashion spreads for the Korean editions of prominent international fashion and luxury magazines such as ELLE, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, Noblesse, Haute and frequently traveled on assignments that took me elsewhere in Asia, Europe and beyond.

At the height of my career in January 1998, all Asia was severely hit by the economic crisis and IMF bailout. Life changing plans made me decide to visit other unknown territories: the USA and artistic New York City, where I lived for 2 years (1999-2000)

New York vibrant art scene and influx of creative directors, fashion designers and underground artists influenced my personal work and I came back to South Korea at the end of 2000 with ‘new perspectives and visions’ about photography and art in general, developing a strong personal style.

Early 2010, my globetrotter mindset and nomadic lifestyle, with a special affection for South East Asian countries, made me decide to relocate to Bangkok, Thailand – the hub of travel and tourism industry where I initiated the openings of multi-function spaces and photo studio (Soy Sauce Factory, Rooftop gallery) which hopefully will serve as a platform for creativity and photo studio for magazines and advertising clients in Thailand, SE Asia and worldwide ...

At present, I divide my time between Bangkok and travel elsewhere around the world, where assignments take me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am fairly new to CouchSurfing and find it a good way to meet cool travelers around the world while staying with 'locals' who knows well the cities where they live ...

I'd like to meet locals who lived in Europe (Belgium, Paris), South America and worldwide travelers, in general, to reconnect to the cities, places I haven't visited since years...

In general, I am hosting since 2012 in Bangkok (also on Airbnb) and love to travel and meet people from all cultures and backgrounds. The guest room may be (or not) available while you request. It's a private guestroom with A/C and King size bed, a sofa (bed) and a working desk/chair. There are two shared bathrooms.

I like to meet creative open-minded individuals who can share their travel stories and a good glass of wine or beer. It's cool if you can contribute with something typical from your country.
