Discover the world

I'm 27 years young and to travel is my passion, it's the journey not the destination that counts. Meeting interesting people, discover new places and nature makes traveling my passion.
I'm a social person, who's always up for a good conversation with in combination of a good glass of wine or a quality beer. I've always played squash on a professional level. Nowadays I like to go for a run, workout a little bit and all kind of adventures sports. I'm studying journalism to be able to make documentaries and become a storyteller of the world. I love my city and if I have time and can show you the best places in Ghent, one of the most underestimated cities in Europe!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have room to host 2-3 people if I'm with my mom (in weekends). If I'm in the center of the city I have a spare matras or a couch for one person. If you compare Ghent with a person it's someone with an old body but a young mind. With 67.000 students Ghent is the biggest student city of the country and it's one of the only cities in Europe that has 3 medieval towers.It provides a perfect mix of night live and seeing some culture during the day. In the last 10 years Gent has restored a lot of his old buildings and squares. I also know some great bars and places to eat a good meal or I can lean you my kitchen and you can cook something delicious for me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think it's a wonderfull travel experience because you meet locals, hear different travelstories, they advise you good food, places where locals drink and eat. It opens windows, you learn to know new and interesting people from every country in the world, you can promote your city and hosts can promote their city and convince you to come over.

Interests

-Climbing Ben Nevis (highest mountain of UK)

-Hitch hiking 2500 km from Sevilla(south of spain)-

- Winning Route Du Soleil (World's biggest hitch hike competition)
-Climbed the Etna (Sicili/Italy)
-Traveled around the world in 365 years

Teach, Learn, Share

In the summer of 2013 my best friend and I won world's biggest hitchhike competion. The price of that competion was a worldtrip. We are leaving Belgium the 24 of septemer 2014 to travel for one year around the world. I can always learn you the trics of hitch hicking, what can be interesting (and a cheap way of traveling) if you travel in Europe. I'm studying Journalsm, so I'm interested in a lot of subjects: history, politics, social media, psychology, film, camera...
