About Me

I'm a PhD student in physics in Paris, and I am really passionate about arts generally. I spend my time in theaters, concert halls, museums... when I am not working, playing squash or with my friends ! I really love Paris, this city is just amazing.

I was born and grew up in New Caledonia - a small French island in the Pacific - between my small native village, our "bush" and Nouméa.

I began to couchsurf (and host !) when I was in Boston for an internship in particle physics at MIT in 2014. That was a wonderful experience and it is still :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people from everywhere and discover their culture. I would be happy to share mine, I am sure it is a way to question and understand it better. It can seem a little naive but I believe it's true !

Interests

All the arts generally.

But also sports, especially with a racket like squash.
I love big cities, just walking can be enough in these places. But sometimes I need nature, I really enjoy hiking.
I really love biking too.

I think you need to eat the local food to discover a place, I'm really passionate about that. Feel free to ask for places in Paris.

Music, Movies, and Books

Especially classical music (my favourite composer is Maurice Ravel), but also trip hop (Massive attack, Mogwai, Björk, Radiohead), jazz (Brad Meldhau among a lot of others) or songs of Bowie, the Divine Comedy, Étienne Daho and so on !

I play the piano, but I'm not very good, I prefer to listen and only play for myself.

It's really difficult to choose movies or books.
My last "schock" is "the square" for movies. For books, I lately loved a French book called Le sermon sur la chute de Rome - Goncourt prize 2012.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It's a shame, I just cook very simple things (if you want some "crêpes", just ask ! You have to know that it's one of the most basic things someone from France should know)... And I really really like food. I think offering a meal or bringing a gift (French wine ? ) to my host is the least I can do !
