About Me

I will voluntary end by these (too) frequent questions / answers like :
1) What's your name ?
2) Where do you live ?
3) What do you do in life (as a job) ?

-----------------------------------------

What I LIKE :
- HAVING FUN (but not making fun of), and don't prevent myself from laughing. Sometimes people make fun of my laugh, but I don't mind !
- MANY THINGS. The most important one for me is to SHARE them with people. It could be either sharing some drinks as well as visiting a city or travelling some days with somebody ! Working according to my values, feeling useful for people while doing something on-field...is very important for me.
- I love LANGUAGES. I feel I didn't take enough time for myself to learn more. Hopefully I'll manage soon. That's my main goal today actually !
- ALTERNATIVE things: eco-village concept, permaculture or kind of...etc !

What I DON'T LIKE :
- Loneliness (well, some times, it's fine),
- Wasting food and energy,
- Selfish people,
- People taking off the plates too early on the table when we are still eating and enjoying the moment !

-----------------------------------------

Well, now I got decided to answer to the classical questions I mentioned above.

1) What's your name ?
My name is...on my profile !

2) Where do you live ?
I lived in Montpellier, south of France, these last 5 years. However, I tried 3 times to go abroad working.
- I was supposed to work for 1 year in Brazil in 2012 into a solar energy company, but the Brazilian government didn't give me a working visa.
- Then I was supposed to work as a volunteer in a eco-tourism project in Lebanon in 2013, but the charity I was preparing the project with didn't manage to get the money from the European Union.
- 2015, I was going to go to Lebanon again. But, at the very last moment, my profile no longer match association's expectations !..

Since, I quite my job October 2015. I'm not officially living in Montpellier anymore.
And I spent last winter in Lebanon, working with an association.

NOWADAYS: Back to France for 3 months in spring season. And I just got back from another month volunteering (mainly for refugees) in Lebanon a few days ago.

3) What do you do in life (as a job) ?
I worked as a Business Technical Development Manager (it sounds weird like that, I know) in the public electricity distribution network in France for 3 years. I was dealing technically and administratively with the clients' connection to the grid. The job was not my passion at all. But was OK though.

NOWADAYS: I'm looking a new position. Especially within an NGO, and working on-field. And if I could learn languages at the same time, it would be great ! But I find it tough to conciliate both actually.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
First I participated to CS because I wanted to go to Ireland by the end of 2007. I did my 1st CS in Vienna actually, during the 2009 summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:
I surfed only a few couches actually until today. Too few I guess ! Only a night in Vienna, one in Montpellier and one in Porto. Oh, and some days in Lusaka as well ! Hope to do some more !!

Interests

* As I already mentioned,I love LANGUAGES. Really would like to learn some more.

As my Grandmother was Lebanese (but born in Ghana), she knew how to talk Lebanese Arabic.Unfortunately? she didn't teach my father, and I.
After my 1st trip to Lebanon in 2014, I started attending Arabic class. And in 2016, I went back to Lebanon especially for it. Even though it's hard, I keep on learning it today, and wish I could spend like 2 or 3 more months over there for it, and focusing more on the language.

German and Brazilian are 2 languages I would like to learn within the next couple of years.

* Things dealing about ENVIRONMENT: sustainable development, renewable energies, better food...

* Trying to make more THINGS by OURSELVES: gardening, car mechanics, renovating house, cutting hair, cooking, and many other little things !

* To contribute to some USEFUL things: helping out charities, volunteering for refugees, ...etc.

* SPORT, especially team games: football, volley-ball, windsurfing, swimming...

* EATING !! Love to prepare dinner with and for people I appreciate, and new guest ;-) .

* Having some DRINKS (like many people I guess) with friends, and even more outside when it's shiny !

* TRAVELLING, really would like to do some more !! I prefer spending some months at the same place so that I can better get to know the language, culture and people.

*...and RANDOM things to do as they come !
