About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finally got a computer that can handle CS again! YAY!! :)

ABOUT ME

Out-going, talkative, quiet, melancholic, excentric, fun, explorer, lazy, dance maniac, boring, free spirit, stubborn... Aren't we all a little bit of everything?? At least, I've found that I can't claim to be one thing without also admitting to contain a bit of the opposite, even though that might be nice sometimes ;)

I think that one of my most prominent traits is curiousity. I love to learn and find that every single person I meet has something to teach me - even if it is how NOT to do. To me, traveling is beyond comparison the best way to satisfy that need for new knowledge and experiences!

The thing is, I don't really like being a tourist. I want to get a sense of the real vibe and culture of the place and people I'm visiting - something hotels and guidebooks can't really provide. And that's why I love couchsurfing so much! The fact that it's free, well that's just an added bonus. Hence, you can also expect that I will not take you on the beaten track when you're surfing with me.

When surfing my couch you should also be aware that I'm bisexual and in a relationship with a woman and although we do not live together (yet), you'll need to be accepting of that. - Not that I have ever met a CS'er who wasn't ;) Just one more thing to love about this community; open minds!

PHILOSOPHY

To have respect and keep an open mind. To do the things I love - life is just too short for anything less. To give a helping hand wherever I can. And to try not to take anything for granted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer a place to stay whenever I can, guided tours of Copenhagen (provided I have the time) and general pointers and info about Copenhagen and Denmark :) I've also joined the translation team to make CS available in Danish.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only had extremely positive couchsurfing experiences! How amazing is that?! I simply love the whole idea behind this project. To me, one of the greatest things about traveling is meeting locals and getting behind the curtains, so to speak. CS gives me that opportunity as well as a chance to pay it forward.

Interests

My three great passions:
Traveling - seeing, meeting, experiencing new places, people and cultures
Music - singing, dancing, listening, enjoying... If there's great music, I'm happy :)
-I'm a bit unsure of what to call my third interest actually as it's rather broad... Communication, maybe? Languages, literature, poetry, newspapers, journals - you name it. Reading someone else's work or writing my own takes up a lot of my time :)

Music, Movies, and Books

With music, my taste is very broad and it depends very much on my mood. My favorite genres, however, would probably be rock (from pop-ish to alternative), soul, jazz and blues.
I love books! I have never really been into crime/detective novels or the whole biography scene, but if something has been recommended to me I will probably read it anyway.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think I experience amazing things all the time. However, since I'm afraid of heights, I'm very proud of myself for walking the steepest trail of the Great Wall and for standing on the glass floor of the CN Tower! It was also amazing to hitch-hike through Europe and around the Balkans, most of all because of all the fantastic people we met.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lots of museums in Copenhagen are free on Sundays - some on Wednesdays also.
If you are one person planning to use public transportation more than 6 times or if you're several people planning to use it more than a couple of times, you will save about 30% by investing in a 10-fare ticket. A ticket is valid for two hours and is good for buses, metro and S-trains.
The little mermaid is truly little and if you're only in Copenhagen for a day, don't waste your time going there. However, if you have time to enjoy a sunset, that area is the perfect place to go!
