Overview
About Me
I'm friendly and easy-going and I love meeting new people. I'm not hugely into sightseeing when I travel - I just like to hang out in new places, try the food, soak in sights and sounds, meet people, be outdoors. Couchsurfing definitely supports this habit better than a hotel room.
Some other things about me... I'm love biking everywhere, whenever possible. Winter only rarely gets in the way. I love board games, a lot. And live music. I've recently started learning to play the ukulele - though I don't think I'll travel with it this time. One thing I always have when travelling are my running shoes - running is one of my favourite ways to discover a city.
I think I'm a fun person, and I know some cool things, and I'd love to hear about the cool things you know too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing gives you an amazing opportunity to get to know a place, through the eyes and experiences of someone who lives there. It's my favourite way to travel. I'm definitely not in it for the "free accommodation" - I think it's a beautiful way to share experiences with someone else and make a new friend.
Couchsurfing has given me some of my best travel experiences. A few years ago, I surfed my way through London, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna on my last big trip. I still tell stories about the people I met on that trip. I also couchsurfed in Thailand and met up with various CSers in other parts of Southeast Asia. The CS community is the most open, welcoming, and fun I've known.
I hope to find hosts to chat with - learn a bit of the language, converse with if it's a language I already know (right now... only French, but hopefully more to come), and find out about cool (not necessarily tourist) spots in the city that locals know! And if my host is down for exploring/spending time in the city/town, even better!
My living situation hasn't been conducive to hosting in the past, but I hope it will be soon!
Interests
I love being active - cycling, running, hiking, to explore a city and surrounding areas. I love having a good conversation on a patio/terrasse in the sun. Food is an important part of my life, wherever I am - I love cooking and trying new/local cuisine. I love singing and making music. I love seeing live shows and theatre. I love playing frisbee, or board games. I recently started rock climbing/bouldering - but I haven't tried outdoors yet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent 7 weeks in India volunteering, learning languages, travelling, and experiencing the sights and sounds of one of the most amazing and overwhelming countries in the world. There's something to be said for reconnecting with your roots.
Teach, Learn, Share
I make jewellery on occasion :) I'm currently learning how to play the ukulele, and travel with it sometimes!
If you're interested in learning French, I can probably contribute there as well (language exchange maybe?)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to make a meal with you, or otherwise hang out. Meet some people. Easy going and considerate!
