About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm here to make a world a happier place through every action I take :)
Life is already hard enough for us to cope with it!
ABOUT ME
I'm a Med Student in University of Brasília, Brazil, but I'm studying right now at Trinity College Dublin for 1 year! So, to make this experience even better, nothing better than hosting - and being hosted to!
Maybe the aspect of my life that I value the most right now is having interesting and insightful conversations, and I'm pretty much sure that, for some of those at least, the more beer we have, the better the subjects are! So, if you are getting hosted here, expect a good night in a irish pub!
I really like to meet people and listen to their life stories, share some knowledge and grow out of it! I mean, isn't it all life's about?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
- I was hosted by 2 people in Brazil: had insightful conversations about gender equality and nature and social judgements at Pirenópolis and then built ideas about spirituality and medicine over loads of beers at Goiás Velho. Those people made this roadtrip to be the best ever.
- Also in Manchester I was hosted by this hippie genius Evan, and slept 2 nights in the facilities of the Physics Department of University of Manchester, what a great and superfun experience! hahahah
- In Edinburgh I stood with Aaron, a great kid that taught me the basics on juggling balls, had beers with, went to a jazz pub, ate haggis with, and plenty more in Scotland!
I hosted here, in Dublin:
- a polish girl that loves the sun and absolutely hates the shadows
- and a traveller guy from Salt Lake City that had slept in the streets for 2 nights in a row at some city in Europe, that taught me so much about life and how to live it intensely, that even all my friends got excited about it when they knew him!
So that's why I'm here. I've grown a lot from the past experiences. People you meet at couchsurfing are a huge part of the trips you take after all!
Interests
I like music. No, really, really like it. I can talk about it for WEEKS. Bands, instruments, orchestras, types of acoustic guitars, techniques, classical stuff, modern stuff, alternative instruments, samba, polka, mambo, reggae, seriously, don't even get me started here.
I like visual arts a lot, as well. I used to make stencils through the city of Brasília till some years ago, I used to make some photo sets as well, from DLSR photo sessions to experimental photography, like lomography, pinhole of testing different photo processing techniques. Of course, modern art is a major interest!
Since I studied advertising before starting med school, I'm very into media, communication, social online experiences, technology, every king of media usage still gets me!
Biology, health sciences, psychology, public health, medicine itself, I don't even have to mention how interested I am in those subjects, right?
In general, knowing new places, and specially the people that live in it and seeing how different their life stories are... Meeting people at the trains, subways, buses, any place and time is a good time to step out of yourself.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh boy, talk about films. Loads of stuff to say!
My favorite being Kauffman's Synecdoche New York, so good that I have a tattoo based on it. There's a huuuge list of actors I could go through as well, but the top 1 surely is Philip Seymour Hoffman. So sad we're not seeing another film of his anymore :( So yeah, cinema is a MAJOR interest, built back in the advertising studies times!
When it comes to music, almost every kind of music is interesting for me. Lots of classical stuff, such as Mozart, Rachmanioff, Dvorak and some other favorites, as well as american country/bluegrass tunes, of course brazilian tunes, samba, bossa-nova, forró, frevo, and so it goes. Old school rap and hip-hop is welcome as well, so is reggae, ragga, jazz, electronic, the list is huuuge!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a bridge-like structure in a hole for my car to pass through cerrado pathways in the country side of the center of Brazil, when in a roadtrip, using dead trees pieces. It worked!
I've been to a very small city in Brazil with no place to sleep till 2am, and was hosted by a very good man that I knew drinking beers and talking about gone lovers on the streets. I got to see his ex-girlfriend's picture at his house. Heartbreaking awesomeness.
I gave up my course after 7 semesters, and my well-paid job a well at the advertising industry, to take the university entrance tests again and study 6 years of medicine.
I climbed the Arthur's Seat at Edinburgh and stood there hung by the wind, medidating, by myself.
I slept at the couches of University of Manchester for 2 nights and made its facilites my home.
I met a busker at Manchester who happened to be a staff at the Manchester Art Museum and got a free amazing 3.5-hour tour through the galleries.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach many acoustic guitar techniques and music stuff, since I studied it for yeeears. Scales, tones, chords, songs, tuning, harmonisation, and so it goes. Basic musical stuff as well, like notes, how the scales and tones are formed and everything!
I can teach some stuff about photography as well, like how to handle a DSLR, photometry, how to manage lighting, how to improve photos, how to edit it electronically, and some framing techniques!
Basic first aids, as well, I can go through. CPR, gasping first aids, fractures, how to deal with people passed out, these kinds of stuff, since I'm a member of the Trauma and Emergency group of studies at my university.
Of course, I can teach english and portuguese, for those who want to improve it a bit! I've known a huge amount of people willing to learn more about portuguese, which is quite impressive!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be VERY PLEASED to cook some stuff for dinner or lunch, like beef or chicken stroganoff, garlic and oil pasta, a wonderful oven-cooked meatloaf, caramelised bananas, maybe a lasagna, bruschetta for entry... Who knows what will come to mind?
I can play the guitar, as well, specially if we have a singer in the group (so I don't get expelled from the house!).
For those who like to be photographed, I'd be very happy to put the in front of the camera, edit the photos later and share the love!
