About Me

I love travelling and meeting new people while exploring the world! The great conversations these lead to are what give life meaning.

When I'm not traveling, I live in the US and work in international development as an economist. On weekends, I am most likely to be found in an art museum or at a swimming pool.

I'm fluent in English, French, Hungarian and Spanish, and can speak some Japanese, Polish and Russian. Feel free to say hi in any of these languages!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The people are always the best part of a trip! There's nothing like connecting with another person from a different walk of life, listening to their story and sharing yours.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I read an eclectic combination of literary fiction, fantasy and historical fiction.

Movies: Recent favorites include Glass Onion and Rashomon; over the years I've really enjoyed The Death of Stalin and The Handmaiden; and I'm always down to rewatch Lord of the Rings again. And again. And again!

TV shows: Recently I've enjoyed Interview with the Vampire and The Great, my favorite reality TV show is The Amazing Race, and I've seen Friends more times than I can count.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once made a Nobel Peace Prize winner down their drink, I lived in rural northern Senegal for a month, and I once watched 16 plays in a month.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, French, Hungarian or Spanish; I'm happy to chat about international development / economics; and I love swapping travel stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking, and I'm happy to help out in the kitchen or to whip up a pasta bake, a Senegalese peanut butter stew, or an American egg-based starter called a Dutch baby.
