About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Improve my English and Russian :-)

ABOUT ME

I work at the university, love travelling, especially by bike, usually alone - why?...because I do that :-)
But I like meeting new people very much:) I write someting from time to time, take photos. Sometimes I worry too much, sometimes I worry too less ;) I am interested in almost everything ;) Like having fun and jokes as much as discuss absolutely serious problems.
I am a voluntary blood donor :-)

Please, DON'T OFFER ME TO COOK, doesn't matter by yourself or with me. I am not in cooking much, and definitely prefere to have a great conversation with you about your culture, history, life philosophy etc. (To anticipate your comment: I am not able to divide my attention for both of those activities :-)
I accept friend requests only of people I have met personally.

PHILOSOPHY

There in our life is the time of happiness and - time of sadness.
We, people, are as different as similar. Everyone deserves respect (excluding aggresive, pathological liars, racists, extreme nationalist, envious and others villains) - we can differ from each other very much, but we can do it in a beautful, peaceful way :)

My identity:
1) I am a human
2) I am a woman
...
3) I am European
...
4) I am Polish...

Even if any of these elements isn't my own choice (all of them I've got just by chance, as a gift from... Nature / God / fate / destiny...), the order I detail them shows, I hope ;-) my priorities, my own point of view for the world and other people...
I hope I'll never start watching reality and describe myself in reverse order :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf (mostly) :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experiences are, generally, really good. Most people I have met they were very, very nice, interesting, open and interested in othere people and cultures, hospitable, respectful and helpful (sometiems, I must say, they were extremely helpful :-) I will never forget all goods that I have got of people from here.
But I have to add I travel by bike and...before I knew what's CouchSurfing - I was doing it! I was spontanously couchsurfing and people were spontanously hosting me :) Simply, people who I met during my bike trips: on streets, in cafeterias, gas stations, parks, shops, anywhere - after a chat they were inviting me to their homes or apartments :) They've shared with me not some places to stay only, but their life stories, emotions, opinions, helping me to know their cultures better, often showing me their cities or villages. It happened in Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Moldova, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania, Israel... And that works still :) Even if I do not travel by bike, but by hitchhiking :-) That is amzing and let me to belive in humanity and - my own great luck to peope I meet :-)
I wish the tolerance, good, being interested in, trust, equality and spreading, simply, good thoughts and meaning of human being they are ideas of CS and work here, generally, very well, are around us daily and define us as people.

Interests

Travels, especially by bike, especially with social context. Learning about world, other cultures, myself. PHOTOGRAPHY. Writing. Reading. Theatre. Psychology. Sociology. Literature. Philosophy. Religions. History. Politics. Art. Dancing. Music.
If I can include this to my interests - that's hitchhiking as a kind of life style ;-) I have hitchhiked in: Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Russian Federation, Israel, Palestine, Belgium, France, Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Montenegro, Ukraine, England, Morocco, Slovenia, Croatia, Norway, Cyprus.

Music, Movies, and Books

Good music, good books, good movies :) And - I decide what's good or not...;)
There's so many amazing books, movies I have seen and loved, and love, and so many capital music I have heard, and listen to... that is impossible just detail a few of them.
Maybe I should just mention what I read just now?... So, the last were the guidebook about United Arab Emirates and Oman and "The Dual of Words. Eristic techniques in Public Disputes".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It isn't really amazing (I mean it's not so extraordinary :), but, anyway, I am proud of it: I've travelled by bike, alone, from Poland to Black Sea, twice (Constanta in Romania and Odessa in Ukraine) and from Kraków to Adriatic Sea through Bosnia and Hercegovina, and to Ionian Sea (through Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro) :)
Hitchhiking alone from Krakow, through Lithuania and Latvia, to Moscow...;-)
I have walked a couple of kilometers along a high-way in Poland, by rainy night, and - survived (extremely luckily haven't been punished by Police...) ;-)
Ah, I've won Grand Prix in photo contest "How do Russians see Polish and Polish - Russians" that is a part of HumanDoc International Film Festival :-)
Last "amazing" thing: in Amman, the capital of Jordan, I bargained hardly and paid 5 JOD instead of... 20 (!) a taxi driver demanded on me :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Polish language :-)
My interests about cultures, history, literature and psychology (a bit) :-)
I'd like to know you :-)
I'd like to know your culture, tradition, history (own and your country/area/place), religion (if you are religion person), habits.
If you are my guest, I can offer you a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of beer in the evening (if you drink :-) If you are my host, I can share with you the same :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of stories of my trips :-)
I can take (try?....) a photo portrait of you :-)
Some advices how to organize long distance bicycle trips (alone), how to hitchhike (alone) :-)
