About Me
I am a graduate student studying in Columbia University in New York city, majoring in architecture. Originally I am from Shanghai and had just moved here in June. Sort of a new comer but already started to enjoy the city so much: kayaking along Hudson River, going to all kinds of private art museums along the highline park, getting invited to an authentic thanksgiving dinner by some local friends, and skiing in upstate very recently... Even planning to go on the central park midnight run if it weren’t for a last minute trip to D.C., which, I am hoping it could be an even more memorable new year.
I have always had enthusiasm about cities and dynamic urban space and different lifestyles. Aside from an architect, I took more pride in being called a storyteller or a self-employed writer. I know my trip has just started, but I know it is gonna be great!
Also, Jocelyn, another girl from Shanghai is traveling with me. She is now a graduate student in North Carolina, majoring in urban design. She loves traveling and hiking, and had just finished her road trip in Arizona with her friends. She likes photography, using her camera to record the best moments of the amazing landscapes.
Here is the link to my self-introduction when I traveled in Europe in 2014.
I m a girl from Shanghai, majoring in Architecture. No that's totally boring, let me start again. I am a beginner in guitar and quite an advanced player in piano. I just joined a band back in my university and we play blues... Or... Metallica... In the future I m supposed to be an architect( that is what I learn as a major), but other than a normal architect, I care much more about things behind it, such as mental wellbeing, social interaction, city planning, even humanity... So I might as well become a writer, changing the world by the power of words and thoughts:). I love experience, all kinds of. This is my first time traveling in Europe... And a lot of first times, including being robbed in Milano, tasting first gelato in Turin, sleeping outside the train station in Venice, winning a volleyball match on a beach in Rome and being totally paralyzed by Borromini's church!
Back in China, I did quite a lot of couchsurfing, and had met some really interesting and inspiring guys. I am amazed how different people can think. That is why I decided I d carry on with couchsurfing in Europe. Hope to share stories with u. And don't forget I can surely be the perfect guide once u travel to Shanghai, cause the city is what I learn and what I understand:)
