About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life is so short, just do what the f**k makes you happy!

ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! My name is Virva and I got involved in Couchsurfing when I was living in Mexico. I wanted to travel all over the country and Couchsurfing offered me a great opportunity to travel with low budget and meet new and amazing people. I am very talkative and easy going, some people say "cosmopolitan". I guess it refers to the fact that I adapt to new situations easily. I am awfully curious and I get excited about new things. There is this lazy side of me when I just want to be left alone and talk to no one (which is handy as I live alone) but most of the time I love hanging out and meeting people.

PHILOSOPHY

"Treat others as you like to be treated." I know it's a cliché but works in every situation. Other philosophy is: "If you are not responsible of your own life, you should find out who is and call them."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have traveled through Couchsurfing quite a lot and I have also hosted people. Now I am busy with work and stuff in Finland so now I focus on the hosting side. Can't wait to do some traveling again soon though!

Unfortunately I am quite busy. People should prepare for the fact that I may not be able to show them around or hang out when they are staying at my place. Depends on my schedule.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have met amazing people I'd have never met otherwise. I haven't had a single negative experience, couchsurfers are so cool!

Interests

Traveling has always been one of my passions. I also love going out to lunch or have a cup of coffee with friends, the usual stuff. Sometimes a night out is just what I need.

I do horseback riding once in a while and maybe one day I will have my own horse. I'm not a strict vegetarian but I eat mostly veg food.

Music, Movies, and Books

What comes to music, I love rock from the 80s. Sometimes I listen to pop or even hip hop or rap, but only in rare occasions.

I love reading books and watching movies. My favourite genres are psychological thrillers, comedies (the good ones) and biographies.

For example, I like AC/DC, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, this awesome Finnish rock band called Hanoi Rocks and its lead singer Michael Monroe, books by Sidney Sheldon and Marian Keyes, and movies such as The Usual Suspects, One flew over the cuckoo's nest and Dr. Strangelove

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the coolest things that I've done was when I rode a camel in Israel and scuba dived in India. And I have done a parachute jump!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught people to use this magnificent device called cheese cutter and usually I recommend people to taste this local black sausage. Or "mustamakkara" in Finnish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bake some pulla!
