About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like adventure, meeting new people and exploring new places, so Couchsurfing seems to fit my personality as well as my budget.
Sadly, I forgot to login to Couchsurfing for awhile as I was going through a bit of a personal crisis, so it looks like I no longer have a good response rate. Don't worry, I am determined to fix that!

Music, Movies, and Books

Tool Radiohead, 2Pac, Fiona Apple, Kos,The Killers, Vivaldi, Massive Attack, Led Zepplin... there are too many great bands to mention. I like pretty much all classic rock, jazz, reggae, latin music, brazian music, rap pre-2000, and anything that makes me move and/or think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2012, after completing my undergraduate degree in History/Philosophy/Education, I took part in a Developing World Connections International Volunteer trip to Manyatta, Kenya. In Kenya, I worked alongside the locals at reforestation and irrigation projects that are taking place in the community and volunteered, in my free time from this project, to teach the local eighth-graders at a local, poverty-stricken public school. This international volunteer venture was a cultural immersion experience unlike any other and I believe it provided me with a strong intercultural understanding - an experience that would be precious to any teacher & one in which I am very grateful to have experienced.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been to over 45 countries and have friends all over the world. I have degrees in the arts, business, and education and would be happy to have discourse surrounding these topics. Also, I am a generally happy & upbeat person, so I should be able to bring at least one extra smile into your life!
