Hey there! I'm Virginia Marcs, a singer-songwriter attempting to run my career independently. I am based in Astoria, Queens, NYC and supplement my income with a little restaurant and bar work. I also teach voice lessons and hang with my friends as often as possible. :)

I need to take my music out into the world but running this business independently means that my budget is pretty much zero. :/
Also, meeting new people and sort of "trust-falling" with humanity sounds pretty beautiful to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so much music! Where to start? I started in classical music and then moved into jazz. I'm currently listening to Amanda Palmer a lot and also still listen to Tori Amos. I love Broken Bells, Patti Griffin, Muse, Deftones.... I seriously like so many different things!

My favorite movies are Labyrinth and When Harry Met Sally.

Favorite books: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a Kickstarter campaign to fund my first album and released that album all in the same year!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll mostly be tour-traveling which equals "working" so I would be a fairly quiet and courteous guest, mostly interested in sleeping before I get on the road to drive another 5 hours or so. I would offer guest list status at my show to any host, as long as that were possible (and it usually is). And a download card.
