ABOUT ME

I moved to Cape Town, South Africa, in December 2015 from my hometown in Melbourne after falling in love with South Africa on a round the world trip in 2014. Along with moving locations, I also made a huge change from mining to social media and I have loved every minute!

I love the outdoors, and spend a lot of my time running, hiking or at the gym (indoors). I did my first Marathon last year and would like to work towards at least one Iron Man / Woman competition in the next year or so. I played soccer for 7 years in school and then did dance for a few more years, but now I am trying to find my new 'sport' and I am hoping it is Kite Surfing!

Music has been a part of me my whole life, from playing classical music when I was in school to starting a rock band and then converting to musical theater in my 20s. My love of diverse music really characterises me as an individual - someone who on one hand tried to learn to samba during Rio Carnival or jump out of planes but can also sit and critically talk for hours about a TV political drama or cook a seven course meal.

When I am not madly dashing around seeing friends, finding the new performance/arts space, eating spicy and exotic foods, I also am trying to learn Spanish because I could spend the rest of my life going around South America, but Portuguese and Russian are also on the list!

So that's me, a little bit of everything in one little person :)

Intereses

Theatre, music, singing, writing, cooking, hiking, dancing and exploring.

In 2014 I spent 4 months in South America as well as some time in Spain and Portugal so I am really keen to improve my Spanish and learn Portuguese afterwards.

Anything to do with fitness. Love my gym, yoga, hiking and running :)

Música, películas y libros

I prefer TV shows over movies, but love biopics, feel-goods, thrillers, historical drama, sci-fi and superheroes. If a good movie is based on a book then I just have to read it! It's really hard to pick my favourite movies, so I will pass on that for now.

Similarly with books I enjoy biographies, historical fiction and non-fiction, but really love fantasy (Game of Thrones, anything Tolkien, Brandon Sanderson and of course Harry Potter).

I am a music theatre performer and used to have a band so my musical tastes are really broad, e.g. classical, Broadway, jazz, progrock, country, indie, folk, jrock. You name it, I love it,

Been to all seven continents by age 28 ;) Not so amazing, but I am so proud and happy about it!

I am a good cook and like to help around the house. I enjoy learning about the history, culture and aspirations of the country from the people I am sharing a home with. I love talking about absolutely anything and have some great travel stories. Like most Australians, I am very relaxed and can be spontaneous with my travel plans should the host like to share some new experiences together.
