Overview
About Me
I was born, grew up and have always lived in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. My mother comes from France, my father comes from Brussels so I've family in these two countries. I've also french habits even I'm a real Belgian girl! A good mixt of both I hope...
After high school, I studied history and cultural management at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. After university, I worked as a funeral manager with my father... And finally decided to travel alone with my backpack in Asia and Australia. It was wonderful but I came back in Brussels for my best friend's wedding. One year later, I decided to set up my own business... So since June 2012, I organize guided tours of Brussels by electric bikes (www.onceinbrussels.be)! One of my favorite activities became my job! Unfortunately, because of my job I don't have as time as before to welcome couch surfers at home.
I try to be an openmind person who takes time to discover new people and new things. I need to do a lot of stuffs and I thing I do but I've always the feeling that's not enought. I like to spend time on my own even if my friends and my family are very important for me.
Nowadays, because of my business, I don't have a lot of time for me or for CS. But if you send me a very kind, a very interesting, a very special request, maybe I'll accept! ;)
PHILOSOPHY
I don't believe in God... I believe in human race, I believe in my friends and family and I believe in me most of the time! I try to learn from the others, from my experiences, from my mistakes. I hope to continue to grew up everyday, to learn, to be a better person, to feel more confident, to enjoy life.
Quand on veut on peut! - Who wants can!
Qui ne dit mot consent... - Silence means consent...
DANCE as though no one is watching you,
LOVE as though you have never been hurt before,
SING as though no one can hear you,
LIVE as though heaven is on earth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
During summer 2008, after university, I spend one month and half in New York on my own. It was an amazing experience who changed my way of seeing the journeys, the changes of habits, the meetings, etc. Now I would like to discover a lot of foreign countries! But I havn't always the possibilities to travel... So CS is a good compromise between staying in Belgium and meeting new people, confronting the opinions of each one, going out the everyday life... I like it!
I'm very excited to host you and share a few days with you, to make discover my city and my life here. And I hope that I shall can surf on your couch someday...
I like to take time with my guests, include CS in my everyday life, show them my favourite places, eventually meeting my friends. I therefore only accept people when I really have time to spend with them...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All experiences are positive!
I knew CS by my old friend Geraldine : it seems a really good idea and I wanted to try. So I participated in a barbecue meeting in Rotterdam with her, my first CS experience. After that, I had few guests at home and a lot of meetings, sometimes really enjoyable, sometimes less but always interesting. And during my 3 months travel I surfed in few places.
Interests
I like and I enjoy a lot of stuffs...
I dance for twenty years (classic and modern dance) and I climb regularly for few years.
I go usually once a week to the cinema and I like a lot of movies.
I love cooking!
I'm interested in history and architecture.
I like reading, visiting museums and exhibitions, meeting people, going to a nice restaurant, taking the aperitif outside with some friends, discovering new cities, going to concerts, playing games.
And since my friends and family offered me a Brompton for my birthday, I like cycling in Brussels.
I like also drinking a tea on my couch with a blanket when it's raining.
And of course travelling!!!!!
