About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Creating and sharing good traveling karma.
ABOUT ME
We're both musicians who love reading, writing, drinking, swimming, parties, cooking, hanging out with cool people and cool animals, exploring new places and trying to contribute to our world and community.
When we aren't working, you might find Byron reading philosophy or law, building a fire, watching something about science or history, drinking good beer, riding his bike, or playing video games. Stephanie is probably daydreaming, dancing, writing a song, doing yoga, drinking a glass of red wine, talking in a silly voice, or planting things in the yard. If you came over right now, you'd find her on the internet.
PHILOSOPHY
Let it come, let it be what it is, and let it go.
Beyond myself, somewhere I wait for my arrival. - Octavio Paz

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've couchsurfed and hosted through the music scene, doing US tours with our bands, and hosting others who were touring. But, through this site, we've hosted not as much as we'd like and surfed more, but still not as much as we'd like.
Interests
making music, reading, food and drinks, riding bikes and taking walks, HIIT, yoga, camping and the outdoors in general, seeing interesting things and making things look interesting, philosophical discussions, seeing new things and keeping up with familiar faces.

Music, Movies, and Books
Steph: Movies- Adaptation, You, Me and Everyone We Know, Natural Born Killers, Muholland Drive, Eternal Sunshine, lots more... Music- PJ Harvey, Sonic Youth, Gang of Four, Electrelane, The Slits, Mary Timony, more and more. Books- Skinny Legs and All, Confederacy of Dunces, Kafka on the Shore, Rule of the Bone, The World According to Garp, and whatever I'm currently reading (not in school at the moment so all reading is for pleasure).
Byron: Movies - Fellini, Kurosawa, Terry Gilliam, and pretty much anything with Will Ferrel in it; Music - Mike Patton, Flaming Lips, Beirut, The Clash, Tom Waits, the White Stripes, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Neutral Milk Hotel, the Mars Volta; Books - Steinbeck, Foucault, Camus, Nietzche, Safron Foer, Eggers, Chomsky, Murakami, Marx, Faulkner
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Steph: Saw a monkey in a rain forest. spent 5 weeks living (mostly) a day at a time in Europe. Spent a summer in a van in New Orleans. Recorded an album in a funeral home. Helped a 10 year old boy with no written language skills learn to read. Got married on a black sand beach in Costa Rica.
Byron: well she stole my best one. Two week tour of the eastern US. The view of the Alps flying out of Bergamo, IT. Ponte Vecchio at dusk. Eiffel Tower at dawn. Camping on campus and marching with hundreds of thousands to protest war.
Teach, Learn, Share
Steph: I can teach a few things, a little cooking, guitar, HIIT, yoga, some sloppy sewing machine use; if you have some time to spare - digital recording or drywall hanging. If I don't know how to do something I want to do, I can usually find out, be it through friends or the good ol' internet. As far as learning - I'd really like to learn more about anything audio/visual. Also, always like to meet yoga teachers. I'd really like to learn Spanish or any other language, but I'm pretty terrible with languages. Otherwise, I'm pretty open, if something strikes my interest, I'll definitely give it a shot.
Byron: Lawyered, studied political philosophy as an undergrad. I have cooked in a few jobs and bartended; I have experience in basic carpentry and electrical work, but nothing too complicated. I always enjoy sharing music or a conversation or learning about anything.
