About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spreading knowledge and love around the planet

ABOUT ME

I am a young American expat who has fallen in love with New Zealand: The people, the land, and especially the culture. I have been living in Auckland for two years now, and know it quite well. Luckily, I have been able to travel extensively around the country in the time I have been here;

Initially I only intended to stay a short time on my working holiday visa, that has turned into residency and a more permanent situation. My boyfriend, Will, is kiwi of Samoan descent and is also an anchor for me here in NZ :)

I've completed the first chapter of my world travels, and now that I'm pregnant, the second chapter will have to wait a little while :)

Thank you to all the friends who extended their homes and lives to us for a few days; we've learned so much about you and your culture!

PHILOSOPHY

In the past three years, I have changed so much personally & professionally. The biggest epiphany for me, was discovering my own power! Once you free yourself from the impossible task of pleasing other people ( parents, teachers, friends) and society, you can really begin to follow your most VISCERAL destined path in life. You know, that little voice before you get up and just before you fall to sleep...tugging at your heart-strings? The inherent purpose of this life (& lesson) calls you!

Stop, TRULY listen to yourself, and step into your dreams!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After befriending a fellow traveler, I always make a point to mention the couchsurfing project and how it has changed my life, and our ability to travel. I've done this everywhere during my journey, from the Himalayan Mtns to downtown Paris! I helped many people sign up and check out the fantastic website CS offers; its actually the determining factor for my use of CS versus the other hospitality sites like GlobalFreeloaders and HospitalityClub.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It makes too much sense to unite like-minded travelers to bridge the seemingly, impossibly-expansive globe...It's NOT that hard :-) This has extended the length of trip I can take, while hooking us up with some great people. PINCH ME!
