I am a writer and a filmmaker. Cinema is my greatest passion and (in a good month) my bread-earner :p

As a traveller, I am, first and foremost, motivated by food! I'll try almost anything at least once. And as a writer, I find myself compelled to absorb as much as I possibly can of the culture and history of whatever region I traverse through.

Aside from exploring local culture and cuisines, the highlight of any travel for me is to meet and connect with people, both local and fellow travellers.

Interests

When I'm not writing or making films, I usually spend time playing the keyboards, whipping up a meal or grabbing a cold brew with mates.

I'm a huge food enthusiast and I am now looking to venture into food and travel blogging through Instagram.

Some of my favourite films are Star Wars, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Dark Knight, Chinatown, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Searchers, The Maltese Falcon, The Lord of the Rings, The Seventh Seal, Rashomon, The Seven Samurai, The Godfather and a good many more....

With music, I'm particularly inclined towards classic rock - Dire Straits, The Beatles, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Lennon, Clapton, Cash. Also a bit of Country music - Hank Williams, Dave Van Ronk and of course film scores by the likes of Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Hans Zimmer and such...

Joseph Campbell's 'The Hero With A Thousand Faces' is my bible. Other than that, some of my best reads are Maus, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, 1984, Animal Farm, Jurassic Park, Why do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Debatable Space and anything by Timothy Zahn...

I also enjoy graphic novels by Alan Moore, Brian K Vaughn, Neil Gaiman and Frank Miller.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve encountered a fully grown adult male Komodo Dragon in the middle of the jungle on Rinca Island. An experience that was equal parts exhilarating and terrifying!

Teach, Learn, Share

Shooting and editing videos, a bit of the keyboard and some basic guitar chords.

I enjoy cooking and would love to cook a meal or two and exchange recipes.

I'm also very likely to share a lot of random movie trivia :P

Most of all I'd really like to learn anything I can about local history, art and culture...and especially about the local food...
