About Me

I come from a city called Chennai, which is to the South of India. I've lived nearly all my life in the city, which happens to be brimming with culture, art and food. Thus, I've had a long standing interest towards the liberal arts and most definitely food.

I love to travel as much as possible during the vacations and try doing it impromptu. I am easy going and thus pick up friends all along the way of my travel pursuits. Living my life to the fullest now, in Europe! :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and embrace new cultures. I've been in Europe for the last one year, and I've met some great people, walked over different terrains, heard some riveting stories about life and the likes. I believe in heterogeneity and the inclusive nature of Europe. That is pretty much the reason why I'm here - to get to see and gel with more colourful people over time.

Interests

I have a huge passion towards the literary arts, ranging from micro fiction to poetry. I've been writing for over a decade now and I'd like to feed my little ego with the thought that I'm good.

I blog at https://vforvenndata.quora.com/ ranging from mundane stuff of everyday to posts bordering on existentialist philosophy seasoned with anecdotes, sarcasm and sporadic expletives.

I also follow progressive rock/metal religiously with a near fanatic interest in attending gigs (particularly Opeth).

I love reading about existentialism and a bit of neo-noir, because it helps feed my creativity and also because it makes me feel more wiser. Apart from this, I love to cycle, go for a walk, hike/trek occasionally and also go for a swim on the weekends.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite genre of music is progressive rock/metal with Opeth being my all time favourite band. I also love Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Anathema, Dream Theater, Children of Bodom and Katatonia.

I love movies that make me ponder on life and also the occasional ones that make me laugh.

Books - I can't particularly pick a favourite, because there are a lot many out there which I've loved over particular points of my life. Nonetheless, I could say that I like the works of Murakami, Arundhati Roy, George Orwell, Stephen King, Khaled Hosseini and purely on the sense of literary greatness, I admire the works of Sartre and Kafka.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been published more than a dozen times in international literary journals. That's probably the one thing that makes me real proud.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share views over international politics, a bit of sports (cricket and a bit of tennis), feminism, technology and startup trivia. If that's not your forte, I could cook some real good Indian food (a bit spicy though, as goes our stereotype)
